We are a sub .500 team now over the last 23 games....thats a long period of time to be mediocre.

I agree 100 percent ...this team is playing some folks that are terrible hitters this year .

The Oakland As are the better team ....I'm not numb not shocked ...they are clearly better .

And with this, I shall take my leave of the internet for tonight, and of this site for a while.

Is there something wrong with admitting this ? The team is riding a low point it may be over soon ? It may be who we are ? right now we are not a better team so what .

Something with this team the last couple of years. I just don't see urgency with this club to win consistently. The As have been their daddy this year thus far. A lot of payroll on this team and they can't f***ing take a series at home from the As

Well, on paper the RS have a good rotation. In reality though, it's overrated. The only guy I really trust is Sale. That's it.

I'll take a check from Sale. The other starters have to pay cash.

They better be careful here if they still have dreams of winning this division.

I’m not being negative but honestly I’ll be happy to just get a wild card spot. The last couple weeks we have not looked good. At all.

Definitely. As we all know from the last century of baseball history, the team in first place halfway through May wins the division 100% of the time, especially if it's by 2 games or less. Might as well deal off Sale, JD, and Mookie for the best prospects we can get, fire Cora (anyone who can't win his first 50 games in a row as manager clearly wasn't ready for the responsibility), and stop watching the games for the rest of the season. The Yankees are never going to lose another game, ever, so there's no reason to hold out hope now, I mean, there's barely 4 and a half months left in the baseball season.

Makes you wonder what they are saying in Tampa where Cash has to somehow pull off the miracle of a bullpen game out of every 5, is managing his tail off to still be something like 9 games behind the Sox and 10 or so behind the Yankees after only 40-50 games, or in Toronto where they have about half of an actual baseball team and Lord what the Oriole's boards must look like.

Hmmm. I thought I was the only one indulging in irony.

Exactly. I stopped watching them after opening day, since I didn't share your rosy, Polyanna-esque attitude--surely not enough to follow a team with a 0% winning percentage.

You stopped watching after opening day? So the first game of the season turned you off to a team that was predicted to be in the playoffs and contend for a title? A team that currently has the second best win % in baseball (and it aint close) and is on pace to win 108 games? Either you hate baseball, don't understand baseball or really aren't a fan.

@ jad... Do you want to break the news to him about sarcasm, or should I? :D
