Here's a question: why is Tropicana Field such a hard place to score runs? Is it just the park dimensions? I wonder if it also has to do with the terrible-looking optics of the place and/or the atmospheric conditions etc.

The Trop is a dump and Rays fans have figured that out. But the players still have to play there.

 

Bogaerts seems not to have understood the dictum that you can't hit in the trop--but the rest of the lineup has embraced that dictum.

It is so frustrating how often these stupid outs on the base paths happen. There is a difference when it comes to being aggressive and stupid. That is stupid. You have just taken the lead, and can have the bases loaded with 1 out and one of best power hitters in league coming up, but nope, we do something stupid.
