why does kimbrel keep getting up and sitting down.

Did you read what I posted about "the wooden stake through the heart"?

he made a hell of a play on Gardiner's grounder in the hole!

Not possible. We have been assured he is lousy defensively.

but it just seems like a dumb thing to have your closer warm up, sit down, watch another guy warm up, then warm up again

I agree. I think JF was anticipating the Sox scoring more runs that inning.

it would have been very nice to blow it out so Kimbrel is fresh for the Guardians series

Nah your right. Brock Holt is an unbelievable defensive Wizard. He's a white Ozzie Smith. At the plate he's even better. I hope he plays every day.

Aaron Judge has been a really ticklish little s*** lately. I've been watching his manerisms and he's clearly tickleish. Are there any rules against tickling players? Why doesn't Leon bring a feather or something of that nature and rub Judge's arm pits while batting.

This has been a long game.

It has, but think how long it would have seemed if the Sox had been losing.

Baseball is a funny game.

Yesterday we thought we had a lock on the game with Sale pitching. Today's game some felt was a toss-up (or worse) facing Sonny Gray.

It's a funny game.

Great win, guys. Partial credit to Youk of course. Porcello pitched great, as did the bullpen. 12 hits, 5 runs, and JBJ and Leon the hitting stars. All 5 rbi's by the 8th and 9th hitters, and all runs scored by 6th, 7th, and 8th hitters.

Devers moved up to 5th made sense to me, but maybe he likes it further down. Betts left 4 on, so did Beni, and Devers left 3.

Tough series in Cleveland starts tomorrow--4 games: Fister, Rodriguez, Pomeranz, and Sale.

We are just 2 1/2 up on them for 2d best record and, assuming they lose to Oakland, 5 behind Houston for the best record in the AL.

More than anything else, you have to like the way the Sox are playing right now. Guys griped about Holt CS in the 9th last night, but the fact is we were lucky to be in that game at all. Pitching is good if not great, and the hitting is coming around. Heck, I'm even crazy enough to say I like the baserunning as well.

It surely is.
