ESPN:

Chris Sale is dominating on the mound this season, to the tune of a 13-4 record, a 2.37 ERA and 211 strikeouts in 148 1/3 innings.

On Tuesday night, the Boston Red Sox left-hander will attempt to beat a team he has not been able to dominate during his career when he takes on the Cleveland Guardians in the second game of a three-game series at Fenway Park.

Sale is 82-47 with a 2.93 ERA lifetime against the other teams in the major leagues. However, he is just 5-7 with a 4.07 in 27 career appearances (16 starts) against Cleveland, a division rival when Sale was with the Chicago White Sox.

Last season, Sale defeated the Guardians as part of his 9-0 start. But then on May 24, 2016, he was raked for seven hits and six earned runs in 3 1/3 innings to take his first loss of the season.

MLB:

Sale.. is arguably on his hottest streak of the season, twirling three scoreless starts since the All-Star break. His scoreless streak of 20 2/3 innings is currently the longest in the Majors.

As for his first season in Boston, the All-Star has already etched his name into the Red Sox's record books. Sale is the second Red Sox pitcher with 14 or more double-digit strikeout games in a season. Pedro Martinez achieved the mark twice while with Boston.

Per @BovadaLV, Sale is 1/5 for the Cy Young with everybody else off the board at this point.

@redsoxstats

With Leon seemingly hurt the PawSox got a 3rd catcher from AA today. Swihart hasn't played in a month. Would need a 40-man spot for Butler.

Romanski was promoted from AA to Pawtucket today. Coincidence?

Leon banged his right knee on that slide home the other night. Said he’s day to day, not worth it to play at 70-80 percent.

Cleveland gave him lots of trouble last year too, and maybe before that. There is little doubt in my mind that he has a "tell" in his setup that only they have figured out. My guess is that they try to not to use it too much to keep him from figuring it out.

There's that killer slider again, against which Betts was helpless even though it was actually up in the zone and should have been hittable.
