Apparently according to TC, the umpires were just dumb and didn't know what happened, and the replay officials denied the review because the umpires were too stupid to know what they actually ruled the play as. Good job umps!

At the point that NY starts talking to the Umps in that situation, they need to get the play right. What a BS excuse. NY should have said, "listen dumb f***, you completely botched the call. The ball hit him in the foot nd he swung and missed. He is out."

When you look at the replay, you see that the home plate ump called a hit batsman. That's the problem. He did not call a strikeout and passed ball. OK. Fair enough. Then NY must have said a "check swing" is not reviewable. So there's nothing they can do. When Farrell realized that (if he did), he should have asked the Home plate ump to ask the third base ump whether it was a swing. (Maybe that has to be done immediately? before going to replay?) Anyway, umpires aren't blind or stupid or dumb-ass, although a lot of those who accuse them of that (if they do so seriously and not, as most fans do, simply as a goof) likely are.

The only reason NESN even exists is to broadcast Red Sox & Bruins games. The rest of the time is filled with what has to be the worst collection of programming on cable tv - and when you think about it, that's saying A LOT!

I NEVER watch anything on NESN other than the sporting events and all the in-game promos in the world aren't going to change that. In fact, those promos are only going to reinforce it.
