Compare him to Damon, Ells and Crisp first.

Not getting the job done is not getting the job done. Premier talent at that position would have made that play and with his athleticism I expect Benni to do so soon.

No need to dissect it all with multiple comparisons. He just needs work and experience.

Did I miss something? I don't care what the "sample" is, when your 1nd string catcher goes 7 fo 10, someone has bot to start paying attention. The numbers are kooky, but what matters the most is that he looks like a very confident hitter who is hitting strikes and letting ball go by. I expect chanhes will be made pretty soon.

Or, didn't anyone notice?

I was too kind toward Pomeranz. I did predict he wouldn't get to the 6th innings, but that was easy. What I couldn't see was two dingers to put the Rays up 5-4 after the Sox tied it.

I'm not so sure any more that he's a wuss. He did throw his glove in the dugout again after giving up the dinger and the single in the 5th. He's just lousy. His previous start was lucky.

This gets the Sox down to just one reliable starter. Even our Cy Young winner can't be counted on, not when he gave up 4 dingers and 8 runs in 4.1 innings, and Wright was worse. And ERod is still the same 'ol ERod.

Professional athletes, of course, aren't wusses (unless you compare them to truly bad ass tough guys like us). As for the word "bum"-- I like it! So old-school. I can't believe anyone younger than me ever uses that word (for ref., I started watching the RS in the bad old days of Ted, Jackie Jensen, and Pearsall).

I hope this is a one-two-three 9th. Easter supper is being served early and I'm hungry as hell.

Great game even though Pomeranz still sucks with an ERA of 5.23. But the hitter hit and brought in 7 runs, and the bullpen was great again. They went 4.2 innings giving up nothing, whereas Pomeranz went 4.1 giving up 5.

Maybe we need to recalibrate how we rate a start. Maybe from now on for the Sox a "quality start" is "gets thru 5 innings without giving up 8 or more runs." That way we can now say POmeranz came oh so close--he was just 2 little outs from another quality start today.

Once Price is back, Pomeranz is either going to be the 5th starter or in the bullpen. So, the way I see it is he did what a 5th needs to do. He kept them in the game.

You wanna keep wright in the rotation? He has a big start tomorrow!

It's between him and Pomeranz. Whatever one shows some signs of being decent will get that spot is the way I see it.

Pullpen really sucked today again, eh guys?

Last week I complained about Kimbrel. Today I saw what I was led to believe is THE Kimbrel.

I hope he does that far more often.

Bennintendi needs more experience in the outfield.

He looked bad on that ball near the wall in the 1st.

Bradley would have had that one.

Alas, he is a young rookie.

My sentiments exactly. He turned an out into a 2 run triple. Had he caught the ball, Pom could have gotten out of the inning unscathed.

Not knocking the guy, just agreeing with your observation.

It's early. We are not at the cliff yet.

The Sox will be fine.
