In his first major league game, James Outman goes 3 for 4 with a homer and double and makes only one out.

How perfect is that?

(Plays for the freakin' Dodgers, though.)

It would have been even cooler if the one time he’d been retired, the pitcher was Josh Outman (no relation).

Alas, Josh has been out of MLB since 2014…

Did you know the 1952 Dodgers briefly rostered a player named Jack Daniels? And the 1920 Philadelphia A’s had a player named Johnny Walker.

Yet I can’t think of a single player named Waters!

The Marlins called up a pitcher named Parker Bugg. Seriously. They did…

And two days later, Bugg got squashed…

There are so many wacky names now it's hard to get to them all.

The name Packy Naughton (Cards' pitcher) just makes me grin for no reason.

Except Drew Waters on the Royals….

Only 6 players in MLB history have had the first name “Nolan.”

Four of them came up playing 3rd base. (Arenado, Gorman, Jones, Fontana). Only one (Reimold) started out as an outfielder.

And one one was a pitcher - the infamous Nolan Swancy.

And the one you’re thinking I somehow omitted from this actually used his middle name - Lynn Nolan Ryan…

So 38.5% of the letters in his name are 'n'.

Cleveland rookie starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield.

Kudos to him for making the big leagues, but with that name it's a little unfortunate he's not a position player. :D

Check that - starter/reliever. Almost like I jinxed the guy.

Battenfield is also a good name for a hitter who doesn't use pine tar.

As long as he’s not a DH…

Too bad it wasn’t Robert Davidson.
