It's ok. Your tickets will be great for game 4. You'll get to see the Sox win the ALDS in person...

i like the way that sounds.

Sometimes outstanding plays get swallowed up by a loss. JBJ made a great play in CF late in the game last night against the wall and nobody is talking about it!

He does it all the time. The thing is every time the ball goes over his head or is hit in the gap, I still think he is coming down with it......GG

There is zero chance that Miller and Allen are spent for tonight. Zero. If Kluber goes 7 and hands the pen a lead, he's gonna go Miller and Allen.

Are they going to be as effective as they were last night? Is Kluber actually going to be able to go 7 after the injury and long layoff?

Will they be the Miller and Allen you saw last night. Hopefully not.

True. But does that make up for his dismal performance at the plate? 3 Ks and a pop-up?

As it turned out, no. But had the Sox been able to push across that run in the 8th, it very likely would have more than made up for his lack of offense.

That's the funny thing about any sport. Defense is important - you just don't know when it's going to be important.

at least he is contributing on one side. if he was an average CFer he doesnt make that play.

Kluber is a great pitcher, but coming off a layoff and minor injury. Price is a great pitcher, but blows ass in the playoffs. There is a good chance this ends up as a 12-9 type ballgame

how many innings is tanaka going tonight?

Hahahahahahahahaha!!1!!1!!1

Also, nice avatar. Underboob is the best.

underboob > sideboob > topboob

this is indisputable.....

Exagerating a bit here? Price has been mediocre in the playoffs, and generally has given up 2-5 runs per start. The only time he's given up more than 5 was against the 2013 Red Sox.

Either way, its SSS.

Anyone els have diarrhea this morning from nerves for today's game? Or is that just me?

Lol. I was never confident going into the playoffs after this team laid an egg the last 6 games of the season. They really need a win badly today.

Yes and especially losing with Porcello last night. Not the way I saw things starting for us

I was wondering what you looked like, so I looked up "whiner" up on google images, and I'm pretty sure a picture of you came up as the first result.

What losing with Porcello? Porcello was absent last night and replaced by a someone who loves throwing gopher balls. The Sox were lucky he only gave up 5 runs in 4.1 innings. If the putative Cy Young candidate had showed up, the Sox would have won. The bullpen went 3.2 innings and gave up 0 runs. The offense, while not great, produced 4 runs.

Last night was entirely on Porcello.

Not whining but stating the obvious. This team finished badly and the way they celebrated after blowing the game was weird. Farrell sucks.

I ranted myself about losing 5 out of the last 6, but remembered the Sox had the best record in the AL and maybe in MLB for the month of September and that the Sox played an awful lot of road games and consecutive games in both August and September. So I decided the Sox should be all right

against Cleveland.

And they were just fine against Cleveland except for Porcello pitching an absolutely terrible game. He gave up 5 runs in 4.1 innings, but our bullpen gave up 0 runs in 3.2 innings. The Sox scored 4 earned runs which should have been enough to win.

Meh. He also made two bad throws from centerfield that didn't help in preventing two runners from scoring. And didn't he go hitless with three K's?

How is this loss in any way attributable to Farrell?

Exactly. Last night was entirely on Porcello and no one else. If he gets the Cy Young, it will be a travesty.

I'm a huge JBJ fan.

But many of his throws ( particularly to home ) this season have been way off the mark. They seem to go to the rf side of home.

He needs to work on putting his body in position to throw not just strongly but with accuracy.

And what Beni did last night should never happen. He zoned out. His job was to catch the ball and make a throw that prevented the runner from advancing to second. Instead he either forgot that a runner was on 1st or thought that there were two outs. Either way, his brain fart allowed a runner to advance into scoring position and that runner scored.

It was not a rookie mistake. Just a plain old mistake.

The laid back attitude. The season was basically over that night. Screw home field. Cleveland play's very well at home.
