I am surprise i haven't seen any earthquakes or volcanic eruptions since the cubs won the world series. The end's near. On a serious note. Congrats to cubs fans!!!!!

 

Ironic that tito francona was part of a 3-1 comeback in the 2007 ALCS with the red sox against the Guardians and 9 years later he's part of the Guardians and they blow a 3-1 lead in the world series. Lol. Crazy stuff.

It amazes me that an SI writer entrusted to write the big story on the game could make such a boneheaded factual error. Or maybe I'm just a stickler. Anyone who's interested, see how fast you spot the mistake.

A number of pitchers were pushed a little past their limits this postseason. Kershaw, Kluber, Miller and Chapman were all very human in their last appearances.

i posted this on another thread but probably should have gone here:

First off - Congrats to cubs.

That was an EPIC game. I am worn out this morning.

Some observations:

• Cubs won game 7 in spite of Maddon. His decision making was terrible. Especially how he used the Pen.

• In their last 2 world series appearances the Guardians have lost a game 7 in extra innings. Ouch.

• Mother nature is a cubs fan. That rain delay helped them immensely.

• Theo Epstein has to go down immediately as the greatest GM of all time. He was at the helm to break the Red Sox 86 year drought and the Cubs 108 year.

• Ben Zobrist getting the MVP is a joke. He didn’t even have the game winning RBI like everyone is reporting. He should give the Camaro to Rizzo or Schwarber.

• This series was a blessing for MLB. Baseball is back in a big way.

• 3 months until pitchers and catchers. I cannot wait.

Game winning RBI is not an official stat, although it was for the years 1980 to 1988. Under the definition that was used then, Zobrist did have the game winning RBI last night, because he put the Cubs ahead to stay (although they also needed Montero's RBI for the win, which is what you're getting at). It's the same basic principle used for crediting wins to pitchers.
