Was he a pinch runner?
He had to bat under the NL rules and he walked on 4 pitches. I would hope that the 3rd base coach was not giving him the steal sign and that he wasn't going to try to score him from first base on a single or double.

so did JF leave Clay in too long? or yank him too quickly?

did JF stick with Kelly too long? should he have pulled him after the first hit?

should he have stayed with Barnes for more than 1 out?

shouldnt kimbrell have been brought in once clay gave up a groundball base hit in the 7th? why wasn't he warming up during the 6th inning so he could "be ready"????

If he had, I would have said so. I'll let you know when he does something stupid. You won't have to ask. Even dumbass managers don't do stupid things every game.

LOL! That is rare especially in NL games. He may have to sit one of the neurons with Papi for a rest tonight so that they are ready for the stretch run.

wrong again. I will point out the stupid moves in real time before the results are in.

if Barnes gave up a 3 run job this thread would be 27 pages of how JF sucks for the "quick hook". if Clay stays in and gave up a 3 run dong this thread would be 27 pages of how JF sucks for "leaving him in too long". instead it's just 3 pages because apparently JF didnt Eff up the W.

Clay is my one game playoff SP. yup. i said it.

I'm with you. Last night looked like the 2013 Buchholz. And beyond question JF would have been pilloried if Buch or Barnes had failed because it is never, ever the player's fault. Good managers use players in situations in which they can excel. If they don't excel, it's because of those two neurons misfiring.

OK. I probably got a little too enthusiastic about Buchholz last night. Plus I honestly am not a Pomeranz fan. I don't think DD made a bad trade. In fact, it's way better than the one made in 2013 for Peavy. I just don't like the way the guy pitches even though overall he is a plus for the rotation. Except for those two bad early starts, he has been very good.

anyone can post "change the pitcher" after every base hit from the 6th inning on and end up being right occasionally. or on the flipside everytime the SP is pulled say 'why did he change the pitcher" and then the BP coughs it up and look "right". and then if the move(s) actually work and the Sox win you can simply type "the Sox won in spite of the idiot manager".

yeah man, my bad....you are the maestro of baseball....

You disagreeing with a move does not make it a stupid move.
