No, but since the Tigers series, at least 7 of the 11 games we've lost have been winnable. Say we win all those. We would be sitting at 68-45, which would be 4 games better than Toronto for 1st place.

Farrell destroyed Tazawa faster this year than he ever did. Take your set up man out the 8th inning, then you are able to use him more and more without a set role.

I don't like to blame the manager for everything. It's taking the easy way out. This bullpen is average at best. They don't hit in the clutch during this streak. 1 st and 3 rd twice with one out get nothing. Brad Z since the tiger series for the most part has allowed base runners galore. So it's not all on Farrell. But a change might be in order.

I don't think it's all Farrell's fault... but his job is to get his team to play to their potential, and he hasn't. Again, not necessarily his fault, but it's his job (and if you want to argue fairness, he's getting MORE than paid generously for it). It's getting to the point that this team just need to be jolted, things need to be changed up. They just are s***ing all over themselves when the pressure is on and that reflects on the coaching. I can't stress enough that it can be an impossible job simply because it comes to a point where the player just need to do their own job, but the coaching's job rely's on the players performance, fair or not. So yeah, I'm about to the point where I think Farrell needs to go, not just because he's completely to blame, but things need to change, they players need a fire under their ass, a change of scenery, ANYTHING. They are finding ways to lose, which, as mentioned by others, is the hallmark of BAD teams. Not the direction they should be trending towards...

This team has no sense of urgency or anything. Only guys who seem like they generally care and show maximum effort the whole game are pedroia, leon and mookie (who unfortunately is hurt). My guess is I'd have been against it. Seeing what Texas gave, I'm sure our offer was significant.

 

It's hard to imagine Beltran doing better than Beni, but with others getting banged up, maybe you could be right (assuming we have a chance this year).

 

Too bad we can't trade our vets like HanRam and Pablo for decent prospects.
