Also, the blame laid on Farrell is pretty mild. Which post is out of line? Their reasoning was "Kimbrel has sucked in non-save situations, maybe he can't pitch in non-save situations so stop throwing him out there." To me, that's more of a criticism on Kimbrel than Farrell.

"Farrell is a slow learner. "

"Why does Farrell keep using Kimbrel stupidly? Why? "

Doesn't sound like criticism of Kimbrel to me.

But, I'm sure there will be creative rationalizations to come.

If Kimbrel can only be used in clean "save" innings, it further hamstrings a pen that's dealing with the loss of Smith and the inconsistencies of Koji and Taz.

If I'm Farrell, I tell Kimbrel that he's going to keep putting him out there in close or tie games and he'd best start working to figure it out.

Do you think that kimbrel hasn't tried to "figure it out" on his own and needs farrell to tell him to?

I have no idea.

Either way, he has to try harder.

I honestly think the Sox lost the game in the first inning when Texas scored 2 and we failed to score with men on first and third and no one out with Bogaerts, Ortiz, and HanRam coming to bat. Yes, we tied the game at 2 later on, but then completely ran out of gas. We couldn't score in the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th innings. Kimbrel giving up 4 in the 9th was simply putting our team out of its misery because this time the Rangers pitching had our collective number big time. The Sox were 2 for 16 with RISP. And didn't Shaw get nailed in no man's land yet again? That throw home by the RF actually went all the way to the catcher and was not cut off, but the Rangers catcher still had ample time to throw to 2B way ahead of brainless Shaw. For all we know the 1B coach waved him on to 2B.

As for Kimbrel, he needs to make up his mind to be a complete closer, one who will go in and pitch well when a save isn't on the line.

Interesting how a Yankee fan is allowed not only to offer his opinions, which is fine with me, but then to pick fights with Red Sox fans. He has done his best to turn this thread into a bitch session.

Wrong once again, maxine.

mvp and I were having a a discussion about the thread topic when UN came in and picked the fight.

Quick question, does being wrong so often ever get tiring for you?

You weren't having a discussion, not when your opening shot was a dismissive "nonsense." It was pretty obvious to the rest of us you were just hoping to start a small brawl and not a discussion. Now you want to start one with me by beginning with insults.

Everyone on this thread who has commented on Kimbrel has said he did not lose the game, except you of course. Worse, you think your position cannot possibly be in error. Thus you are the one looking for a fight.

Youk has assured us you are actually a pretty astute student of the game, but there's scant evidence that's true. As MVP78 says, the offense lost this game. If you will check the box score, you will find no loss attributed to Kimbrel, bad as he certainly was.

My "slow learner" comments about Farrell was neither meant to blame Farrell for the loss or to absolve Kimbrel. If you are going to quote people, get the meaning right. If you aren't clear about the meaning ask. Farrell wasn't to blame for the loss imo, and neither was Kimbrel even though he pitched like crap. The comment about Farrell's slow learning is just general commentary about Farrell's abilities and probably explains why Farrell's teams run the bases like they are blindfolded.

Regardless whether my opinion is right or wrong, I did not turn it into a name calling session like UN did.

So to say that I turned the thread is ridiculous.

Remove your head from your posterior and stop using your bellybutton as a porthole and you might see the light.

That bottom comment is why people are frustrated with you..... I won't get into the debate of this but I have been watching from an outside point of view. You can get your point across and have debates with saying s*** like that at the end. Pretty simple.

It happens on forums all the time. I have been attacked for having an oppoinion as well.... the Price contract thread got a tad ugly but regardless I keep my cool. If it gets to heated I usually leave to another thread lol.

And I was in Tae Kwon do as a kid in fact most of my life.... irrelevant to what I am saying. But yes to each their own indeed.

This comment explains quite clearly to the rest of us that you did, in fact, play with barbies.
