It's probably Wright's day to throw between starts. Uusally that's done before a game, but if Porcello had come out early, he would have done that in long relief. Since Porcello went 6, no need for that and so he got his work in during the game instead of before it.

Honestly folks, think a little.

Lighten up Clarence.

This is a game thread not a standardized test.

Having a little fun. Is that okay with you? I like to mock the manager's intelligence.

Porcello showed some moxie. 8 base runners in the first 4 innings is no good. He settled down, got the final six outs in a row and the sox O took over. Against most other teams, he's done in the 4th.

Nice win. Looked like disaster was about to rain down on us in the 4th, but Porcello really gutted it out.

Now Price needs to go out and dominate these guys.... I'm smelling 8 shutout innings and 12 K's today.

I'll give your comment all the weight I think it deserves.

You do realize that your home field encompasses half empty movie theater seats in a city that smells like hot garbage? The Dodgers were in a better part of town and they had the good sense to move.

Once again you display that you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

Now, THAT'S funny!

The funny part is he has no clue what he's talking about.

Yup, it's a clear case of a losing argument. "Uh, well, errr uh, you just don't know what you're talking about."

Feel free to enjoy a festering s*** hole like the Bronx. It's fine with me. I've been there. It sucks and stinks like garbage. You can see the half empty move theater seats whenever a game is on. Not sure what I was so wrong about. NYC has a lot of great things. However, the Bronx and the new Yankee Stadium are not included on that list. I'm personally in favor of building a new Fenway Park due to problems with sightlines, obstructed seats, etc. However, I'd still rather sit in the RF seats staring out into CF than have to go to a game in the Bronx. Yuck. Just gross.

I know you come on here just to get a rise out of people and not offer anything of substance. That's fine, but don't expect it to impact me at all.

He may have exaggerated the "hot garbage" smell, but everything else was spot on.

Meh. Stadiums are nice, but it's the fans (and the players) who make the difference. The Yankees have almost brand new ballpark with way more seats than 100 year old Fenway and a franchise that has won more world championships than any other professional sport team. But as of today the Sox combined average attendance, home and on the road, is higher than the Yankees. Whatever Yankee Stadium and the Yankees as a team have to offer, fans aren't much interested.

Maybe they should claim a fictitious home sell out streak........

The Yanks could never get away with it. One of the first things you notice when you watch a game at the Stadium is all the fans dressed as empty seats behind home plate.

No need for you to get defensive about this topic. We all know that the Sox sell-out streak was bogus and embarrassing.

However, several thousand empty seat in Fenway can in no way compare to the vast swaths of vacant seat in NYS most games. It is quit obvious when you watch a game from NYS on TV that many seats remain un-sold. Just look around home plate and the dougout areas. It's like 70% empty in those prime seats. That is just an example.

I'm not denigrating the Yankees, their stadium, of even their fans by pointing out something so obvious. All in the largest media market in the world. Go figure.

Not "spot on" at all.

Ebbets Field was in the middle of the slum.

You are an idiot. My mother as a young girl walked to and from Ebbetts Field -- all 98 fearless lbs of her. That part of Brooklyn became a slum when they knocked down Ebbetts Field and put up the Ebbetts Field houses- the Projects.

Thanks for showing that it is you that's an idiot. The area certainly was a slum. Try doing a little research before opening your mouth and proving what a fool you are.

You are an idiot and a fool. The ballpark was built in the slum in 1912 because the land was cheap. You don't build a ballpark on Madison avenue. A funny thing happened when the ballpark was built. Commerce came into the area and the slum disappeared. The Fens were a pile of s*** before Fenway Park was built. Ebbetts was within a short walking distance from Prospect Park and was a very safe area for many years. The area did start to decline in the 1950's, but the real death blow to the area came when the Dodgers left town. I'll take the word of the people that lived there instead of a jackass Yankee fan troll.

What part of Brooklyn did you grow up in and what years did you live there? It is obvious that it was in one of the terrible school districts.
