There is no need to shift on a horseshit hitter who can barely hit .200.

 

That isn't what concerned me. He had hit 2 to Shaw already tonight; he's thinking the other way.

I don't believe in shifting on terrible hitters. Avila has trouble enough hitting the ball. I don't think he can direct it. I just don't want the pitcher to make his pitch and the horse s*** .200 hitter get a hit for squibbing something off the end of his bat.

Pedroia struck himself out when the pitcher lacked control and would have walked him except Pedroia insisted on swinging at almost every pitch. Vazquez the same thing except he hit a grounder on a pitch that was so far outside he had to reach to hit it. Either player walking would have won the game.
