His ERA is below 4 right now. He got hit around by a good offense in a band box. No big deal.

It is actually at 4 right now. And it will be a very big deal if he keeps giving a lot of HRs. Wonder what is his ERA against ALE teams.

I'm getting the Orioles feed and they made no comment on the ball/strike calls for the first batter against Ross. They also normally do not show the frame of the strike zone. But I was also checking my ipad mlb.com app which does show the framework.

After last night, I'm a little less confident in Swihart in LF. He's not good at setting himself to throw after catching a fly ball.

I'm wondering why Vazquez seemed to say nothing about those ball/strike calls against the first batter.

1. Carchers don't normally look like they are saying anything, even when they are.

2. Vazquez is still basically a rookie, and may not have earned the right to say much in the eyes of the umpires

3. The homeplate ump may be one of those guys you can't say anything to, no matter how it is said.

All good reasons.

This doesn't look like a great matchup, Machado 3-4 off of Tazawa careerwise.

Seems like Farrell isn't making his homework.

4.00 after a rough outing. Will go down next time out.

Tazawa threw the right pitch, another forkball, but left it way up in the zone. Let's not forget that the first batter should have been out if the ump had not called balls on two pitches comfortably inside the strike zone. Machaco should not have come to bat.

Doubt it. We still have a lot of games against ALE teams.

And half the ballpark explodes in joy... Tazawa has been struggling when brought in with men on base this year. He does much better when brought in while the bases are empty, it seems.

All these guys seem to struggle with that, probably because they are never asked to now. But there is big difference between coming in with 0 or 1 out and with 2. I remember when the term fireman meant exactly that, the guy who came in and put out the fire. A reliever would go 1-2-3 innings if need be.

On the other hand, if you make bad piches to guys who can hit balls a long way ...

This team does not have the pitching to do any real damage in the playoffs. This is pathetic. When we got the lead I sat here and said there's no way Porcello would hold it. It was gone in like 5 min.

Hopefully DD is cooking some trades.

He better be cooking up trades. Pen and SR both. 3/5 of the SR cannot be relied on or is flat out bad, one is almost a rookie, then there's Price who's been shaky in the playoffs years past.
