1. Watching a knuckleballer is boring.

2. It's so hard to catch that it's nearly impossible to find a guy to do inadequately. If you do find one, you basically need two roster spots for one pitcher.

 

It's like trying to catch a fly with a chopstick.

I don't think it is much of a stretch. He replaced the hottest hitter in our lineup and he came up 3 times with men on base and he did nothing. It wouldn't have taken much to tip the scales in a 3-0 game.

I believe Holt had a minor injury. I think it is fairly obvious that even Farrell has lost all confidence in Sandoval. Buckley in the Herald thinks Pablo is gone by May Day which is an apt pun btw.

I didn't have the opportunity to watch the game but seems like Wright had a great day, unfortunately our offense didn't show off today.

Wright was the bright spot. I'm surprised everyone's wibbling about Porcello after that kind of start from an unconventional prospect. As a knuckleballer Wright is not a traditional prospect so his ratings by the experts are in no way etched in stone, it's by no means out of the question for his stock to rise significantly if he has a good year this year. So far at the big league level Wright has always been adequate or better, some people are a little too locked into their thinking about where he sits in the rankings. The guy legitimately could come up big for us as a major surprise with a bit of luck.

I don't think that it is possible to in all reality place a knuckleballer in any "ranking" order. Very much game to game - sort of like Bucholz and Kelly. Maybe they should start throwing knuckleballs.

You need to build a team around more than luck. Unfortunately, that's exactly how this team has been built the past two years. Too many "what ifs" imo.
