Mark Buehrle, LHP, 14-6, 3.53 ERA vs The Future Ace, RHP, 6-12, 5.21 ERA

Pulling for our Sox, as always, but here is one time I can honestly say I won't be heartbroken if the Jays win.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Go Sox!!!

Whatever you do, don't watch the Blue Jays telecast. Buck has been saying "Get up, ball, GET UP" every time there's a fly ball, since they have been bashing home runs.

This is the lowest we've been under .500 since early June. Keep it up. I would like a .500 finish.

WIN!

I have Extra Innings, so I usually don't have a choice as to which broadcast I watch. They usually air the home team's feed. I find Buck to be another one of the annoying announcers, though not as bad as Thorne.

Extra innings on direct TV usually gives a choice of home or away broadcasts, except for Yankee or Mets games. Who is your TV provider?

Cox Cable. Extra Innings has 12 channels on my cable. There are usually not enough channels to air both the home and away feeds. Usually the only time I get a choice is when several teams have off days and there are fewer games being played.

I am blacked out on Extra Innings for all Os and Nats game. Therefore, I am forced to watch those games on MASN, which means I am stuck with Thorne for 18 games every season.

So when did the Sox get this pitcher? Is he related to the Porcello they had earlier in teh year?

Did you do that on purpose? LOL

He just tied himself with pujols for most doubles among active players.

Nice!

Papi and Pedroia - don't ever count those two out.

How many hits has Pedroia had since 7/1? You can count Pedey out annually. He can't stay healthy.

Two more home runs given up by Porcello. He is never going to be consistently successful if he continues to give up home runs at this rate.

To his credit this time around, it is the Jays.

I still like his mechanics and think over all he still gets the job done. Jays are hot right now and hitting well. I was expecting a couple good hits from them today.

Speaking of which. .. Sick Homer from Bradley JR.

he gave up a home run in his 13 k outing. What is to his credit today is the Red Sox sticks. His home run rate needs to be watched. That is not a successful formula for him.

I'm not disagreeing, merely stating that the Jays are a big homerun hitting team. I know the long ball has been a huge problem for him this season, but recently his performance has been better, and he has been getting bailed out by the offense as well.

If he can keep the ball down he might be okay.

Yep. I realize that the Blue Jays are a big home run team and they victimize everyone. Porcello's gopher ball rate bears watching going forward, but today is not necessarily a negative indication, because these Toronto guys are bashers.
