Padres are looking to dump a lot of salary like the Red Sox did in 2012. The Red Sox need to get some talent for the pitching staff. There could be a match.

 

Kimbrel is still young so taking his salary would not be wrong. Ross would be a good fit for the staff. How much are the Sox willing to give up?

A deal like that could probably be done during the waiver period - so even if it could happen, there is no real reason for it to happen now.

If nothing else we could see more of Jenny Dell. Even if Will never hits, I'd swap these pieces. It would be a win-win. Won't have to look at Fatboy = win. Look at Jenny Dell=win.
