Not me.

The guy blows and is grossly overpaid.

Overpaid? Perhaps. Grossly overpaid? No.

I didn't like his deal either, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

It's only been one game, but all in all, Porcello pitched well last night, and he has pitched well with Hanigan.

Maybe, hopefully, Hanigan is the magic cure for Porcello's troubles.

Porcello wasn't great last night, but it was a step in the right direction.

Three years of Middlebrooks is what they saw....

I don't think some people realize just how bad our production from 3B was last year. For all of the talk of pitching being our weakness last season, and it was a weakness, our offense was as big a weakness. The FO did what it had to do to address that area.

No he wasn't great, but I will take 2 runs in 6 IP every time out.

And he did. You go Thunder!

Keep that mojo going into the ASB!

A sweep of the Yankees would be awesome!

At your services. *Bows head, acknowledges applause from audience*

Yea...... it was!!!!

It was close to getting out of hand there in the 4th. But....... the line score was alright.

Yup, he got a strike out and some key ground outs when he needed them.

Hopefully, last night will give him a bit of a confidence boost.

The Sox need him to be at least adequate, if they're going to make a run.

Really the last two weeks has been the pre-season formula finally kicking in a bit - a top shelf offense augmented by pitching that won't kill you.

Exactly.

Except that the high power offense had only 5 hits. They were able to capitalize on some shoddy defense, though.

Only 5 hits in the last two weeks?

Since the sweep by toronto

Braves: 18 runs in 4 games

Royals: 24 runs in 3 games

Orioles: 15 runs in 3 games

Rays: 10 runs in 3 games

Jays: 21 runs in 4 games

Astros: 19 runs in 3 games

Marlins: 10 runs in 2 games

117 runs in 22 games ... 5.3 runs per game. A total which (for a full season) only Toronto could match. Even in a game where they only had 5 hits, 2 were extra base ones. Team which had been dead flippin last in doubles all season now up to 11th.

We've also been getting productive outs, which is a key. Earlier in the year, it seemed like we would only score on sac flies and home runs. Now we're getting a mixture of HRs, RBI hits, and productive outs. We're finding ways to manufacture runs, playing small ball, all of that stuff that good teams do. Weaker hitters are playing the scenario, hitting the ball to the right side to move the runner over, taking pitches in order to work walks with 2 outs, and getting the ball in the air (or to the right side), to score runs on outs. It's been nice to see.

Here's a fun little stat the I just read:

In the last 10 games, during which the #RedSox have gone 8-2 and shown life, they've been outhit 100-92.

It's not so much about the hits as it is about the ability to score runs off of those hits, and the Sox have been able to do that recently. Granted, they've scored a lot of unearned runs which isn't likely to continue, but as a whole, the offense has been much, much better than it was in the putrid month of May.

I just came home from my game thinking that I forgot to make a new GT. Guess I'm not used to 2 off days in a week.

It is a little strange.

It is weird. But we will kick your butt if you forget the GT tomorrow! You are on a nice roll to take us into the NYY Series! Good job young man!

The hardest part of all of this is trying to come up with a good name for the GT, especially when we play the Yanks.
