It felt so great walking the halls today in school knowing that we have Thunder mojo. This feeling is so rare to me, so let's make it last a lot longer. Yesterday was the beginning of something magical.

The thrill that was yesterday, from the Marathon, to the 11 AM start, to the absolutely s***** weather, is gone. The Sox are now in Florida. It seems great, until you find out that they are in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater vicinity, meaning that they are playing the Rays, in the shithole known as the Trop. There was a rumor a few years back that the Rays were going to relocate to Hartford, but its a good thing they did not, or else the great state (not really) of CT would have something else to boast about other than the lackluster beaches on the polluted Long Island Sound that are fed by the dirty, but not as dirty as the East River, Connecticut River. Also, if they moved here, they would have even less of a fan base than they do now, since everyone here is either a Sox fan or Yankee fan for life.

Now here we are in 2015, playing a 3 game series that is a rematch of the 2008 ALCS, and 2013 ALDS. Both teams have come so far from that point 18 months ago. The Sox went onto win the World Series, but then fell down to the cellar of the AL East, but they come in trying to pull off a 5 year result of: Blowing it in September to allow the Rays into the playoffs, Finishing Last, World Series Victory, Finishing Last, World Series victory. The Rays on the other hand have lost all knowledge of how to play baseball. Gone are Big Game James, David Price, Ben Zobrist, Melvin Upton, Jr., and most importantly Joe Maddon, who saw more promise in the Cubs, the very team that hasn't won a World Series since a Habsburg king was on the Austro-Hungarian throne. These Rays are the opposite of Devils, so let's not use that term this season. They have no promise whatsoever, so let's beat the s*** out of them. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable.

Your pitching matchup:

Wade "The Southern Boy who just doesn't give a f***" Miley (0-1, 10.57) vs Chris "I'm so cool that I wear stirrups" Archer (2-1, 1.37).

Despite Archer's ERA, I expect an ass whooping.

WIN!

Have you spent the entirety of your GT ban perfecting the art of the Opening Post? Because this is f***ing awesome.

No, but I hope to earn the right to post GTs more often. It all depends on the length of this win streak, which I say is record-breaking.

Archer is a much better pitcher than Miley, and Tampa is at home. Fortunately, the Rays have an awful offense, and the Red Sox a good one.

Archer is a very good pitcher. Hopefully we can get to him today, or else we're in for a low scoring game. Like you said, the Rays can't hit themselves out of a bag.

7.5 is the end of game over for this matchup. I'd say take the under.

I think it will be a 4 to 3 game. Sox get two runs in the 8th to get 4 runs.

Is Ramirez in tonight?

Hello all, I have been lurking on this site for a while now and this is my first time posting. I'm going to admit, I am a Rays fan (one of the 5 of us). So I figured it would be a good time to start posting in the first Rays/Red Sox game of the 2015 season.

My personal belief for this game is that it will be a close one, Cash is going with an all right handed line up against Miley, so we will see how that turns out. And Archer has been quite good so far this season. I think the best chance for the Red Sox is to make Archer work through the first 5 and hopefully get to our bullpen in the 6th. Best bet would be to destroy the bad early part of our bullpen.

It's always good to win the first game of the series and take some of the pressure off. I hope the Sox offense can get to Archer tonight.

Let's do this boys! Keep the good mojo going!

Hi Bigemu. I'm guessing that's the plan for the Sox offense - make Archer work and get him out early, but we shall see.

Do you know the other 4 fans? LOL

An all right handed lineup against Miley? His splits don't seem that drastic -- it seems like they would be better off putting in their best possible lineup since they lack depth.

Yeah, his trends over the past two years indicate the lefties are starting to hit better against Miley now. Numbers are evening out, over the past three years the OPS against right handed hitters is .736 compared to .661 for left handed hitters. Last year specifically it was a lot closer (difference of only like .020), and this year lefties are hitting better (but the sample size is only through 7.1 innings, so I really wouldn't look deeply into that quite yet.

I'm going to be off the grid for this one. I've been studying for, and will continue, my first final tomorrow. It's an AP class, so I have the actual AP Test from the Princeton CollegeBoard in a couple of weeks. Being smart is so annoying.

Welcome to The Rogue State.

Is the Trop really such a dump? I still would like to go there for a series.

Be thankful that you go to a school where AP courses are offered. It will make a big difference when you get to college.

Thanks!

And it really isn't as bad as it looks on TV. You get a great view from anywhere in the upper deck and the tickets are extremely reasonable, and if you go to a weekday game they are dirt cheap. The outfield deck is a nice addition if you want to walk around. They have some pretty decent food, the Everglades BBQ is pretty good and they just added in a Taco Bus stand, which I haven't tried yet, but Taco Bus is delicious. The main thing I enjoy is the the constant 72 degrees. I mean, right now it is 81 at game time, and we are only in April. It can get brutal when the highs can to 95 with how humid it is.

Have you ever been to Miller Park? I have a couple times and I really hope that is something they can do down here for a replacement for the trop. Quite the nice ballpark.

Thanks for the info. I have only been to Fenway probably close to 150 times and the old Vet in Philly in 1986, I think. I'd love to have the resources to travel the country and attend games in each of the MLB stadiums.
