Hanley in LF is a disaster.

I saw it in Spring Training. He has no instincts in the outfield. Maybe it will come over time. Hopefully, it will come.

You know what is scary. Robbie Ross.

He didn't do so well down here in Texas.

Not watch many Rangers games. He was great in the bullpen. He suffered once they put him in the rotation.

I was listening to this one on the radio, and I was amazed by Buchholz's middle innings. He was completely shelled, and the Orioles team just couldn't close out the game. 12 base runners, 2 runs, that's unheard of.

What does it mean for Buchholz? Is it a confidence builder, proving to himself that he can get out of very tough situations, or is he just going to get shelled every game this year?

Also, Joe Castig kept talking about the Orioles lack of speed -- there were a few times runners on 2nd didn't score on base hits. It was a big disadvantage against the Royals last year, and it sounded like a big problem yesterday.

IMO, Clay pitched better than the boxscore shows. Yes, he allowed a lot of baserunners, but a few of those were the result of some bad "breaks". Two positives from his start are that he only walked one batter and he gave up 0 homeruns. I think Clay deserves credit for hanging tough, battling through it, and limiting the damage, something that he is often not able to do. On most days, a start like that is good enough to get your team the win.

I think it's possible that he was sincere in his apology to his team about not doing his job in that second start (specifically with not backing up bases), and that he really tried to stay focused this game when he got into tough spots.

As far as whether it will be a confidence builder for Clay or not, who knows? You would have thought his Opening Day start would be a big confidence builder for him, and he comes out in his second start and absolutely stinks. He remains an enigma.

I'm pretty pleased with Hannigan. Very good behind the plate.

Hanigan is very good defensively. He has done an awesome job of blocking pitches. Once he gains more familiarity with the staff, I think his pitch framing ability will help even more.

The usual routing...pitching (lack thereof) is going to doom this team.

This game was not lost due to the pitching. It was lost due to the lack of offense.

Is there anyone on the roster more useless than Craig?

I wish Craig could get some regular at bats. I think he could be really good.

Buchholz has really fallen off a cliff since game 1

This start was not as bad as the 12 base runners make it appear. Look a little deeper, and you will see that.

I was pissed when they let Beltre go and he's only been the best 3B in MLB since then. Panda scares the s*** out of me defensively.

Panda is no Beltre defensively, but I think he's done a solid job so far.

I don't know how or why anyone would expect Buch to be an ace. Last season he wasn't injured. He made 28 starts and his results were putrid. What did people expect him to find to turn around his performance?

I don't think anyone is expecting him to be an ace, but maybe hoping that he could be one. He stuff is ace material. He has ace potential. Reaching that potential is a whole different ballgame.
