Farrell says it's a challenge getting Holt in the lineup. Well sure, with Victorino crushing the ball.

Farrell is full of s*** and as dumb as a wall. Challenge? The guy is hitting 579 and playing well. Look around Farrell, you dipshit. See what the others are hitting and how many runners they're leaving on. Do you need a ton of horse s*** to fall on your addled brain to understand that salary or not you've got to get Holt in that lineup????

You're not being paid to hit singles, Panda.

Alert......NS, Panda's numbers are declined four years in a row and he does NOT with all that power. You better hope he can get enough singles and doubles to drive in 80 or so runs and hit close to 300, otherwise he may be a sunk cost.

Buchholz wasn't sharp but 6 innings and only 2 runs is not that bad. Our offense sucked today.

Clay had some bad luck and got into serious trouble a couple times. He was able to just barely get out of serious trouble. One more timely hit and it could have been much more than 2 runs scored.

I find it funny that I expect more out of him. I really don't know why.

I was hoping this was the game that proved his second start was an enigma. But I think it more solidifies that Clay is an enigma himself.

I also think that we can now cross Clay off the list as being our ace.

I was pissed when they let Beltre go and he's only been the best 3B in MLB since then. Panda scares the s*** out of me defensively.

You don't have an ace. Your best pitcher is Porcello and he isn't an ace. Your "ace" is your offense

True that.

I guess I meant number 1 go to guy.

I'd have trouble giving Clay the rock in a playoff game.

Not half as scary to me as Ramirez is in left. Routine balls out there make me cover my eyes.

Ride the hot hand. I often wish we had a Belichick type managing the sox. We wouldn't have to suffer through the "well, we payed him, so we're stuck playing him" BS. Admit mistakes, cut your losses, and ride the hot hands. $ should have no factor in playing time, end of story.

Buch had what I am tempted to label a "Dice K-ish" Quality Start.

6 innings, 11 hits 2 walks, 7 k.

This is who he is and it is not good enough most days.

I suppose I should be happy that he only allowed 2 runs. But he was very fortunate to get out of trouble at least two times when he could have been shelled.

He sucks ass.

I don't know how or why anyone would expect Buch to be an ace. Last season he wasn't injured. He made 28 starts and his results were putrid. What did people expect him to find to turn around his performance?

He's so inconsistent he's bordering on number 4/5 territory, and Masterson already has fifth starter written all over him.

I have said it since before Spring Training that our staff is comprised of a pair of 4s a pair of 5s and a 3. That just can't cut it over the course of a full season.

Go way back to 2013. I was hoping his bouncebackability was strong. You do believe in bouncebackability don't you. It does happen.

He's three games in. 1 great, 1 bad, and one good that could have been bad. IF he continues doing that, I will be ok with Buch. He will be on the list marked "can we trade for better". And I think he is going to be fighting for the 5th spot in the rotation with Masterson.

Devils advocate in this game today, one ground ball hit to an infielder instead of a hole changes the whole mood of Buchs outing. If the Sox scored the average runs per game then they would have won.

I don't think anyone really thought Buch would be an ace, and if they did they probably thought the likely hood of that would come true at about a 10 percent chance. I don't think most Sox fans believe the hype, we've seen too much ********.

Good job we signed a SS who never played LF before. Thanks, Ben.

This is a crack up........... I'd pay to see humor like this.....

on another note.....

I've kind of been a box score guy for years........ I've lived in time zones where it's hard to watch a Sox game. I've seen Sox playoff games 8 hours later than they played, on a crappy laptop alone in my studio apartment because the game isn't on in a bar and no one cares about baseball.

I'll tell you though. You can look at a box score and kind of understand what went on with the game.

But if you read a game day thread such as this site has, you get the whole other side of what really happened in a game.

I missed the "team I hate the most now" part of todays thread. I'd have to agree with most people. Now that Tampa team a few years back was nasty, but f*** Yankee stadium and the billion dollars they spend between championships......

But I do miss seeing Mariano (not in the 8th or 9th inning against the Sox).

I'd buy that guy a drink. (of the cheap s***)
