That feeling you get when you first walk into Fenway is magical. I nearly teared up, no lie.

yeah... for different reasons I did not have the opportunity to go, and probably going to an opening day game and for the first time, could be even more magical as you say.

Lmao! I feel like you might know, is it cheaper to buy tickets on stubhub or actual site? Not for Fenway though, Yankee stadium. Tickets are not on sale for August yet, but tickets for visitors dugout are 220 on the site vs the 320 on stubhub.

My friend... I just bought my tickets as well for opening day and for the second game against WSN. April 13th and 14th. I bought the opening day tickets via stub hub since at the red sox site aren't available anymore. As for tickets for the second game, I bought them directly at the site, seems like some tickets are still available. The opening day tickets are for the infield grandstand 15 section, Row 18 and the tickets for the 2nd game are for the grandstand-first base, section G15, Row 18. The opening day tickets cost me 449 USD (2 tickets) and I'll be able to print them until April 8th according to stub hub. The tickets for the second game cost me 92 USD (2 tickets). I paid 4 times more for the opening day tickets, crazy LOL!... hopefully the experience worth the fee.

Anyway, hopefully I meet you there and other posters as well if you or somebody else is assisting to those games at Fenway.

Hey amigo, have a blast in your first visit to Fenway iortiz. I think I saved some good weather for you since I was the Home Opening Series this year and nearly froze my ass off. I mean this Californian was literally shivering in his socks. Those dorks who run Red Sox Destination do a good job except for seat selection. They put you up along the Coke sign where you get hit with constant blast of wind and chills blowing off the Bay. Plus, all they sell up there is cold soda and beer to drink.....you have to go deep in the bowels of the stadium to get hot chocolate and by the time you get back to your seat it frozen like you are. I never sit up there again unless it's summer.

it had been much cheaper on Stub hub, and the Yankees were pissed that no one was buying from them, so a couple of years ago they ended their relationship with Stub Hub. The evil bastards resented their fans being able to resell tickets at a loss. My recollection is that they switched to Ticketmaster with a minimum price requirement. I am unaware whether they currently have an arrangement with StubHub.

Sounds great, Thank you MVP. What about before/after the game? I'll be in Boston from April 9th to April 15th. Ill try to go in that weekend, but not sure if they open when there is not a game.

iortiz, I don't know what you culinary tastes are but I can tell you that in my opinion Boston ranks absolutely first in two areas.......Italian restaurants and the most delicious seafood in the country and I think I should know because they are my two favorite things to eat. Please go to the North End for the pasta, pizza, cannelloni and that delicious Dago ice cream they serve there. As a Dago myself I've never seen an Italian section that compares with it. Around Faneuil Hall there are all kinds of restaurants and stands where you can eat to your heart's delight. Try also to take the Fenway Tour because it is worth the time and effort. People find it hard to believe but I attended a game there in August of 2000 and came out after the game a Red Sox fan.

Israel, look at Priceline and kayak for hotel rates. You can set up email alerts on kayak. The Back Bay area is the place to stay if you can find a good rate. Let me know what hotel you are considering before you book. I have been in more hotels in Boston than the oldest hooker in that town. Lol!

Well if I come to Boston next season I'm picking your brain before I do Ted.

Cool, thanks a700. I'll just keep an eye out for the tickets in August to go on sale on the site.

Hi Fred... Well, as for culinary taste I like all kind of food, Italian, Mexican, Seafood, American Beef Cuts, etc. As for the weather, hopefully it is not that cold, either way I will wear a warm jacket haha.

Thanks for all the advices, and if you catch a game, let me know to have a drink together with Ted.

They spin things as if people are stupid. If the sox just said they were building their rotation for the future and didn't shove this whole "5 man rotation of #3 starters" down everyone's throats, they'd get more credit from the fan base. The good will from 2013 allowed them to suck in 2014. Sucking in 2014 therefore makes the sox kinda have to make a run to regain some of that good will. Another half assed offseason allows for a broken team. Let's look at the scoreboard here...

Starting in 2014, the sox were not a playoff team. So, they need to make improvements on what they were at the start of last yr to make the playoffs, right? Let's look at the scorecard here

Guys who moved away:

Jon Lester (6.1WAR)

John Lackey (2.8WAR)

Jake Peavy (1.9WAR)

Andrew Miller (2.3WAR)

Jonny Gomes (-0.3WAR)

Rubby de la Rosa (0.9WAR)

Allen Webster (0.5WAR)

Guys brought in:

Rusney Castillo (nil)

Justin Masterson (0.3WAR)

Rick Porcello (3.1WAR)

Wade Miley (1.7WAR)

Joe Kelly (0.6WAR)

Allan Craig (-1.4WAR)

Hanley Ramirez (3.4WAR)

Pablo Sandoval (3.0WAR)

Even with all the moves, you're 3.5WAR behind what you had at the start of 2014. Maybe Rusney plus a resurgence from Masterson gets you back there, but that's still a sub .500 ballclub

Man you sure are good at manipulating data to make things sound worse than they are. Fox news should give you some airspace.

Not many people well tell you this because not many people around Boston know ANYTHING about authentic Mexican food, but......

Boston has TWO, and ONLY TWO no mater what anyone else tries to tell you, genuine Mexican Restaurants. My friends have been running them both since 1977 and 1986, respectively. Eat "Mexican Food" anywhere else in Boston and you probably believe Taco Bell is Mexican. There are many "Mexican" places.

They all suck pond water except two.

Being of italian decent, I will thank you not to use such an offensive word.

I'm proud to call myself a Dago and as such my friend I don't go in for that political correct bu##sh#t. To me it isn't offensive at all unless someone I don't like gets in my face as calls me that. In fact, most of my friends have called my Dago and I see nothing offensive about it. Now Guinny, greasball and wop???? That's different....But thanks for the heads up. Are you an American-Italian, emphasis on American first?

Thanks for the advise Spud. I haven't been in Taco Bell. In Mexico City, I'm not sure but I think there is not a Taco Bell, but I'm not sure as I said, I haven't seen one. I love tacos, huaraches, sopes, mole poblano, chiles en nogada, pozole, flautas, etc. Love mexican food.

On the other hand I would like to eat culinarily food of Boston. Not sure what kind of food and restaurants would you guys recommend. I have understood that the seafood is pretty good there.

Out of curiosity, what are they?

I never understand how Boston got the label of a seafood town. It has a few excellent high-end restaurants, but the city pales in comparison to most port towns in New England.

The other day I watched at travel and health or something a program about places to go in Boston, and in a restaurant, do not remember the name, seemed that they cook the Alaska crab very delicious.

What is the typical dish or food in Boston?

My favorite is Neptune's for the Lobster Roll. At $27, it is still a really good deal.

Ramen noodles.

For non college kids: seafood and that dago ******** they serve in the North End.

I consider that more high-end, but they are excellent. I wish I could go more, but the 5 hour wait is brutal.

My recommendation would be to go early about half an hour before it opens or sign up and leave your cell number so you can do something else while you wait.

One time, I caught some crab off Onset Island on the Cape. We cooked it up. I got food poisoning. Don't eat Cape Cod Canal crab, iortiz.

I see your point. It's probably because this region has so much good seafood in abundance. The availability of fresh seafood here is accountable for that. I'm not talking Fed-Ex fresh, either.

Thanks Ted. If a restaurant is always this full, It speaks by itself about its quality. I'll try to go.

I love how this thread turned into seafood talk

Lol! Well I think it is my fault.

Sol Azteca, El Serape

Probably it is named El Sarape. It is a kind of coat we use here.

I like a lot to eat crab;cooked with butter, lemon, fresh, onions, etc.

Thank you all for the advises.
