I was pretty cool to see all of the Sox rookies getting hits tonight.

Even Drew made a big contribution.

Strange for me being the one to say it but I think that Drew has finally gotten his hitting timing down, and that play he made yesterday and turned a hit into a DP was a classic. He just might be all right from here on it.

Daily JBJ update:

Since 6/19, he's now hitting .321/.369/.397.

This is certainly the best 85 PA stretch he's ever been on at the MLB level, and is consistent with the stretches he put together in AAA.

If his numbers from AAA (.275/.364/.469) begin to translate, this could be an exciting time for the Sox.

It will be an exciting time for the Red Sox if Ortiz gets as he said " as hot as Jamaica". It would also be nice if Pedroia started playing like Pedroia.

Fact - a team composed of 9 Brock Holts projects to go 159-3 over a full season. The three losses are because even Brock Holt needs to sit every once in a while, thus allowing no-name scrubs like Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz to lose a game here and there.

Yeah baby! I always thought as JBJ goes so goes the Sox because he took Els's spot. Hope he keeps it up.

Bradley has played center field so in that sense he has been a replacement for Ellsbury.

In actuality, Brock Holt is now the replacement for Ellsbury.

Holt's ability to get on base and to score from the lead off has been a huge unexpected gift for the Sox.
