Are you referring to how WAR doesn't consider context of each event on the field?

Not only that, but it uses a benchmark based on league-wide production to define what a "win" is. Replacement-level play varies on a season-to-season basis, so you can't just look at it and interpret it on a sum-total level on such a small sample IMO.

Mujica has a 0.0 fWAR -- neither negative or positive. That doesn't seem right.

The bar for reliever's replacement level has been set pretty low with the league-wide struggles for closers from last season and the start of this one.

I don't know if the 'catalyst' idea about Ellsbury really holds up. If you look at the Yankees offence this year, it has only had a tiny improvement over last year's slapdash squad. Obviously this isn't Ellsbury's fault, since his numbers are pretty good. But I think the 'catalyst' idea might be just that, an idea.
IMO, it has clearly been a single factor(emphasis added- there are other factors) that has disrupted the entire lineup. It is taking a long time for the lineup to adjust to his absence. I don't think the ideal lineup for the Sox is to have Pedroia batting leadoff, but no one else has laid claim to the spot. Pedroia has his biggest impact in the 3 hole. The best thing that can happen for the 2014 Red Sox offense would be for Sizemore or Bradley to step forward and show offensive consistency that could be used in the lead off spot.

Don't forget about Lackey's horse face. It's distracting our hitters at the plate.

Can't trust that guy. After some games, he'll go to a bar and drink like 5 Bud Lights! He's probably working off a hangover the next day. Totally unprofessional imo.

I believe the Wally Wave was also brought to us to distract us from remembering that our commentator raised a murdering psychopath!!! The Wally Wave is literally the equivalent of murder.

The Wally Wave is also a single reason for why this team is under .500.
Of course the snarky *******s sharpen their knives when someone has an opinion that differs from theirs. Do you ever get tired of being a jackass.

He was fine in 2013 and 2012.

2012, he was 11-10 with a 4.86 ERA and 1.45 WHIP, in 2013 11-6/4.32/1.43 - actually his best season. Is that really 'fine'? I guess if he was cranking out 200+ innings, yeah, but

he did 161 and 162 respectively, so he isn't really even an innings-eater.... I guess I was expecting a lot more from him, thinking he would benefit from Farrell's return. He did to a

certain extent last year but doesn't seem to have improved. I know it's only 7 starts but he is still slow to the plate and I don't like his body language. Seems to me he gets too

caught up in calls, kind of like Lester used to especially in 2012.

I thought it was a joke? I saw it once tuned to the "Chicken Dance." I turned off my laptop immediately.

Not all of us can have a sense of humor, my friend

Yeah. Some people aren't worth worrying over.

Taking jokes as a personal attack and lashing out.

Give it a rest.

What's your damage 700? He's been dogging the Wally Wave since the season started.
