Whenever he misses a game, the rumor mill starts churning... But I was thinking tonight... Who better to take over in the booth than Kevin Millar?!

Rem dawg is boring, kevin millar is an idiot who worships the yankees. Dennis eckeserly is the best

I like the rem dawg, but the guy is boring, eck is the best, if kevim millar wasnt such a goof ball who acts like a 12 year old kid, maybe, im sick of his hero worship of the yankees.

You can say that again.

Kevin Millar is great on Intetional Talk IMO. He has a good gig at MLB network.

Don't think Remy is going anywhere. But if he did, I would want Eck to replace him

Posted
Yes Eck is by far my favorite of the replacements Love the Remdawg and believe he and Orsillo have a good chemistry But I agree with others that it can be a bit boring sometimes. Eck makes me laugh and I find his view of the game and how explains it to be interesting. I know he's not everyones cup of tea.

I like Eck, but I hear he doesn't want the job full-time. I like Remdawg, if you think he's boring, you should have a listen to some of the other guys around the league. Remy and orsillo are far better!
Posted
Remy used to crack me up, haven't heard him in years, though. When he first started at NESN back in the late 80s, he was wildly popular....probably 'cause he took over from snoozy Mike Andrews. It seems his popularity has dwindled of late....and his parenting skills called into judgement. He's had it rough the past few years, still wish him the best.

I like Remy. But if he were to leave, how about a combo of Eck and Derek Lowe? He was pretty good during spring training with Orsillo. And believe me, having to listen to Michael Kay and the cast of idiots that do Yankees games - you don't know how god you have it with Orsillo and Remy! The Mets, oin the other hand, have a great team of Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez. Frankly, if Remy left, I'd make a big play for Darling, who grew up in Mass and really knows his stuff.
Posted
We could replicate the Ron Darling experience with Seabeachfred for a fraction of the cost.

I was going to say that "this is hysterical" but then i realized what an accurate description of Fred that actually is.

Hopefully someone who 1) can enunciate words properly (usually a prerequisite for professional TV and radio announcers) and 2) has at least a normal level of common sense and knowledge about the world we live in to be able to make small talk during slow periods (Jerry is an awfully nice guy and all, but he's such an ignorant dumbf*** that if you mention ordering pizza with chicken or pineapple on it, he'll think you're pulling his leg).
Posted
I agree with those who mentioned Eckersley. He's a sharp guy and he's got the charisma/personality.

Maybe they should look for a guy who didn't raise a murderer

His son's trial is in August. I wonder how big a distraction that will be. Might have to bring in Steve Lyons.

I know they want to support Remy with how much he has meant to the fan base. But the guy misses tons of time due to health issues and now this. It has to be a distraction for him, personally and it will be in the news every day.

Yeah that's every parent's dream, having a kid that grows up to murder someone. You post some idiotic s*** but this has to be the worst yet.

As usual, the problem with Jacko is the delivery, not the content. What he says makes sense (the whole fiasco regarding his son will weigh on him and eventually the team from a PR standpoint) but presenting it like it's Remy's fault and in such a douchey manner deserves every bit of scorn he gets. Stick to doctorin' Jacko, your writing is terrible.

To be "fair", many people in the Boston area blame Remdawg for the actions of his Son. I'm not condoning this point of view. I'm just letting those on this board who do not live here know that there are people who are not in favor of Remy continuing with his NESN broadcasts.

The entire subject is unfortunate. The big loser here is the little girl that will now grow up without her parents.

I hear you guys. Yeah Spud, I read the comments in response to the article in the Globe when Remy announced he was coming back. I realize how people up there feel. The internet is a great tool that allows people to anonymously sit in judgment of others. No one knows what their adult children may or may not be capable of. Plenty of parents enable their troubled children their entire lives but most don't grow up to commit murder.

Hopefully his son will do everyone a favor and plead guilty. But that's doubtful and what UN says about the trial, media circus and it's effects on Remy and the Red Sox are true. I'm sure he thought all of that through before he decided to come back to NESN.

Yes UN? jacko's delivery was brutal. He needs to stop "posting" out of his ass.

It looks bad from a PR perspective for the Red Sox to have an announcer (president of RSN by the way) whose son is about to have a very public trial in the sox' backyard during the season. Especially considering how heinous and brutal the murder was

Not what he even remotely said.

I know dippy, it was how he said it. Go away and be negative elsewhere.
