  1. Anyone else having this issue on MLB.TV? Never been an issue before, but its saying I'm in a blackout area. That should only be the case if I were watching the Dodgers or Angels.
  2. You can't blame Remy for his son's actions. You try hard as a parent to raise your children right. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out that way. His son is a thug, we all agree on that. Parents, even when they mean well, will try to protect their children, and see the best in their potential. I would never want to be in Jerry's place, and I'm sure there's not a moment that goes by that he wonders what he could have done differently in raising his son to avoid such a tragedy. Back to the point... I always liked Remdawg, I think his old-timer ways are endearing, but I also enjoy dad-jokes. I think is accent helps identify with the new england community. Again, Ek would be great, but reports I've seen is that he just doesn't want the job. It can be exhausting and tiring. Millar just seems like he'd be a lot of fun in the booth. Not sure about any of that Yankee-admiration talk. He always seems like someone who really loved his time with the Sox.
  3. I like Eck, but I hear he doesn't want the job full-time. I like Remdawg, if you think he's boring, you should have a listen to some of the other guys around the league. Remy and orsillo are far better!
  4. Whenever he misses a game, the rumor mill starts churning... But I was thinking tonight... Who better to take over in the booth than Kevin Millar?!
  5. Anyone else think this is a good idea? If he butt heads with Bobby V, well, he's gone. Farrell is in, who is well loved by most of the team. Beckett is gone, who supposively tried to finger Youk as the snitch from last year... If we can get him back at a reasonable rate, and if he'd be open to it... I think we should!
  6. I'm ok with this... Brad Auromas seemed pretty impressive from what I read, but it was clear Farrell is their man. I'm happy they were quick and decisive about it at least, now they can move on to other off-season moves. As for giving up Aviles, I agree he was definiately a temp player, but he was good. I don't think anyone should be bashing him, he gave his all, he was a quality guy and solid starter on any major league team. But I suppose if we had to give up something, it seems fair. Lets go 2013 sox!
  7. Read up on Ryne Sandberg.... I like him...
  8. Everyone wants to see these guys back in a coach/manager role, myself included... But I think there needs to be a few yrs of separation.... But hey, its a great start! Groom him maybe for 2016? Here's a though... how bout Kevin Millar as the next manager? I think that'd be fun!
  9. I would go up to maybe a 5yr $100M contract... I think those injuries were just bad luck, and to say he's just a speed guy is just incorrect, he's shown he has power too. The Yankees spend big $$ on free agents.. The small market teams can scout talent but can't afford to keep them when they're up for Free agency... I think Boston is in a unique place where they should pay to keep their homegrown talent, and focus on their player dev system.
  10. Ortiz will get a 2yr deal... I think he's earned it... He's been the MVP of the team this year... Lackey stays only because you don't have another A-Gon to package him up around... Valentine is gone... Aceves' little tantrum earned him a one way ticket out at the end of the season too Next year, I like Ross, Ellsbury, Posednik/Kalish in OF, Ortiz at DH, Salty/Lavarnway at Catcher, Middlebrooks at 3rd, Pedroia at 2nd... I think Ciriaco earned a shot at SS, and maybe Loney comes back if he keeps up the good work
  11. If he makes it through the weekend, I think he makes it through the season... No point in firing a guy 24 games short of the season... I also think he might be intentionally trying to be fired... Much the way a slimeball tries to get fired from a job in order to collect unemployment. Though for whatever they're paying him... But at the same time, I don't blame him for not quitting, who would walk away from that amount of money if you know you can stick it out another few weeks and get paid to sit home and do nothing for a year?
  12. Didn't see an existing thread so thought I'd see... With the sox dropping 6 straight, 11 below .500....and now the Front office flying to Seattle including John Henry.... Do you think he'll still make it through the year?
  13. Lost all respect for this guy
  14. These guys just don't get it.... Guess they gotta get tougher...
  15. Is anyone else in the LA area being blacked out on this game? Not showing nesn OR fsw feeds!
