This!!!!

I've not been this nervous for a long time. I don't want a tight 1 run game.

I think everybody feels that way. All fans. But you guys have that 95 yr old monkey on your backs, so it may be worse for you. And of course, if it goes to 7, I personally will start drinking a full hour before the game, and will do a shot every time you score a run. That way if we are crushed I will have no memory of the last inning!

Yeah, close games in the postseason are great and exciting and baseball is awesome and blah blah blah but it seems like every single game this postseason aside from Game 1 of the ALDS and Game 1 of the WS have been incredibly nerve-wracking. I've had enough of this. Just score ten. Make this Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS or Game 1 of the 2007 World Series. I can't take another 1-0 game, win or lose.

Agreed, by far. This postseason has felt almost miserable, hasn't it? It is fun when they win....but it is much more fun when they dominate.

The ALCS and WS so far have literally made me lose some of my hair (well that and my grandma passing away, car's engine blowing out and a last-minute project but i digress)

I have a bet to make. Who wants to bet I ban Carter before this game is even over, whether the Sox are ahead or not?
Because I pop off after a loss? OK Man. No skin. :)

I completely agree having said the same thing.

What really pained me about game 2 was that Wacha left that change in some pretty bad locations from the pitcher's perspective and the Sox still could not hit it. I think that likely means that the only way to hit that thing even if thrown in a bad location is to be laying for it. It is a dangerous way to hit but some of them are swinging the bats so badly that it might make sense for some of them to look for the change with two strikes. He really does like to throw it with two strikes and it is possible to make mince meat of the change if you are both laying for it and it is thrown in a bad location from the pitchers perspective. Would not suggest it if not for the fact that some of them could hardly be doing worse at that plate at this point. So, the downside might not be that big a deal when you consider what a professional hitter can often do when he is expecting the change and gets it in a good place for him to do something with it.

At least by Game 2 evidence, the pitches (the fastball and change) are pretty straight pitches. He locates the fastball well, and the change up has tremendous deception (the arm action is excellent and for a straight change it has to be). I know our team won't be stupid fishing too much - but I think they will be ready to swing at the first pitch if it's a good one. If Wacha's curveball has more snap than it showed in Game 2, the equation changes a lot. That said, he threw so few (and none of them particularly good) in Game 2, it is hard to say he'll want to throw it in the highest leverage start possible.
