Castiglione did a clubhouse interview with Dempster during the postgame. I'm not trying to be funny, I legitimately completely forgot about him.

so has everyone else in Red Sox Nation.... great win forget Demp and lets enjoy this win... Demp who? f*** him... see yall in the series Wednesday

Does anyone know who the commentors will be for the World Series? If its Tim and Joe i will have the sound on mute the whole series, and it Jon Kruk was their 3rd guest host my head would explode. It think it obvious that Tim and Joe would suck the ball sweat off any other team than the Red Sox, its ridulous. Dont know why they have such a hard on against Boston, maybe their beards only grow in all George Jones trashy and they are jelous of the Man Mulch thats what i blame it on.

Also, where the hell did everyone go? How can anyone go to sleep after this? I'm going to be awake until f***ing November, I'm so amped. The Sox are going to the goddamn World Series. A year ago today I was curled in the fetal position holding a knife, trying to decide whether to use it on myself or Bobby Valentine. Today I am practically delirious with happiness and 2012 seems like twenty years ago. I love this f***ing team. I love baseball. I love TalkSox. f***ing yes. On to the World Series.

For ten dollars you can buy a pocket AM/FM radio and listen to the glorious commentary that is Joe Castiglione and Dave O'Brien. And if you want to watch, you can listen to the radio with the TV on mute. I don't get why so many people complain about the announcers. RADIO, people, it's a pretty neat invention and radio baseball is a thousand times better than TV baseball unless you're listening to John Sterling and the hideous growth coming out of his nec-er, I mean Suzyn Waldman.

I'm right with you... Not sure if I'll get any sleep tonight. Was so close to dragging the wife and daughter outside to spray champagne on everyone despite it being 30 degrees outside until I remembered that would be best saved for a moment following our next four wins. Woke my daughter up anyway after Vic's homer so she could see them clench the pennant. 4 yrs old now and she danced with me when Koji shut them down. Loved every minute.

You are a wonderful parent.

I do what I can. If I do nothing else as a parent than guarantee she'll learn to hate the Yankees with a never-ending passion and love the Red Sox with an equal amount of passion, I can die a happy man. Passing on wisdom for life is great... passing on a love for the Sox is beyond words. It's my most important job as a father IMO....

I will be much calmer during the World Series. This reminds me a lot of 2004. An ALCS that seemed determined to send me to an early grave, constant panic and nail-biting, incredible comebacks from what seemed like hopeless odds at certain points, and finally, triumph, after I was sure that I had exhausted every ounce of my sanity. After that, the World Series seemed almost anticlimactic. In 2004, many people, including me, were saying "If they can come back from 0-3 and go to the Series, the Cardinals will be cake." Well, if the Sox can win in 6 against Detroit and their murderer's row of starting pitchers, the Cardinals will be cake.

I'm sure I'll worry and freak out when the Sox don't have a lead and whatever else, but there is no way the World Series will be as dramatic as this ALCS was. I am tapped out on drama.

Just got a chance to watch a few of the highlights. What a hit by Vic. That curveball was pretty nasty. True, Veras left it a bit higher than he would have liked, but it wasn't a real hanger. It had some bite and it looked like broke close to a foot. Vic just waited on it and put the barrel right on it. I understand Hunter's frustration because maybe that's not a homer everywhere, but I don't think there's a ballpark in America where Peralta (come on, it's Peralta!) actually goes back and makes that play. So it's a 3-2 or 4-2 lead instead of 5-2. It would have held up anyway.

Helluva play by Drew in the 7th. Good thing it was Cabrera running! Or should I say "running".

I agree with YOTN. Each round has been less stressful for me, and honestly at this point winning the WS will be gravy for me. Losing to the Rays would have been agonizing. Losing to the Tigers -- eh, I have MI ties and I'd have been happy enough to root with them for the Tigers in the WS. Losing the WS -- are you kidding me? We made it to the World Series!!! Not that I'm planning or expecting to lose the WS, but the ride has been so good thus far that I can handle it ending now.

Huh?

“Your heart just drops. As you said, it was like a pop-up. The ball just barely getting over the Monster, in most stadiums that’s probably an out. But here’s it’s a homer and he got the job done. ... That was a crushing blow,” Torii Hunter said. “Just couldn’t get it done. Baseball is a crazy game, a game of failure. We did that. That’s why we’re going home. We failed.”

That didn't just barely go over. What a sore loser!

This will be a tough series coming up. We will be seeing Cards pitchers for the first time. They have terrific pitching and seeing terrific pitchers for the first time can be very tough. Home field could really work to our advantage in this series though. Peavey has to get his head out of the clouds and the Sox brain trust has got to get used to the idea of helping him through games. We are stuck with a 5 inning starter in Buch as well. Farrell needs to figure out how he gets to the latter innings especially for Buch's start and maybe for Peavey's as well. I don't see the Cards going down in 5 mainly based on their pitching. I had Sox in 6 against the Tigers and I am going to stay with that for the Cards.....Sox in 6 again.

Guys, it's been a hell of a year. We've all been through so much with this team over the last 3 years.

We've watched them blow a 9 game wildcard lead and miss the playoffs. We've sat through 162 games of Bobby Valentine managing this team and all of the turmoil that came with it. And this year, we've watched as the team we all love so much has marched its way to the World Series.

I know most of us haven't ever met outside of this board. I know most of us probably never will. But, despite that, we're all family here and I can't think of anybody I'd rather share this moment with than all of you guys.

Now let's win it all and bring on the duck boats!

If I didn't celebrate so hard, get shitfaced and my phone didn't die, I would have said the same thing

Tigers board is pretty rational considering the circumstances. "Mumbles" as Leyland is known over there is taking a good deal of heat as you might expect, especially for his slavery to pitch count, for coddling his players beyond comprehension and possibly having the worse base running team in baseball.

Did not realize it but their 5 starters started 157 of 162 regular season games....almost unheard of these days and something that will likely be hard to repeat. No matter...they probably have enough talent to continue to succeed in the Central but have not been able to convert that into a WS win. General acknowledgement that the bull pens were a giant dif as we have been saying over here.

Biggest ump blunder for them....strike 3 non-call to XB last night. That was missed but again, we know many umps position themselves such that the outer third is mostly a guess...just the way it is.

The Sox have never lost a World Series, or even a World Series game, in my lifetime!

In my lifetime they are 2-3 in WS wins and 17-12 in WS games.

Hard fought series on both sides, I understand the Tiger's pain but someone should remind "Torii" that if it was so easy to hit a "pop up" over the monster that he had the same opportunities as well. That guy really is a bitch, I used to admire him as a player before he became an old whiny woman. Maybe he and David Price can go clothes shopping together some day and bitch to each other.
