Crowd is epic tonight. Myers has to want to crawl into a hole and stay there right about now.

Webster is going to do the kid a favor and take MYers out to dinner tonight so that they can practice their "a building just fell on my head" looks.

Enjoy it, guys. Hell of a performance, in all phases.

Such class. One day i will buy you a beer and reminisce about days when the Yankees didn't suck. In other words, we will drink but we won't talk.

Very convincing win! Unfortunately I had to work through it. What a great feeling. Been a while since I've celebrated a victory in the playoffs.

I hope Maddon steps on a lego barefoot.

I like this. Not quite as graphic as some of your posts, perhaps all the more effective for that. :D

Had to work all day and missed the game but first thing I did when I got a chance was read this thread from the first page on. This must be the finest entertainment next to the game itself, you guys are a riot and the Sox appear to be well prepared and ready to win the WS again.

Being at that game was absolutely fantastic.

I'm fairly certain Myers no longer has a soul. I've not heard Fenway chant that loud ever. Myyyyy-errrrsss. Oh man. That was gold.

I sat down and this old guy, probably mid 80's, smelled like old squash and loved the Red Sox. First thing he says to me 'I don't want to just beat the rays. I want to demolish them. One of those 12-2 games. Destroy all those little rat bastards'

Hilarious, and he called the score perfectly.

Nobody even knew how to react to that Myers play. It was so weird and confusing. Everyone was like 'wat!'

Anyway, SFF at the game mojo stayed strong, as did lady SFF at the game mojo.

Both will be in effect tomorrow. 3 rows behind the on deck circle. With a Get Beard shirt.

That would be awesome!!!

Truth be told VA I would much rather have to endure Olbermann in a sports venue that have to listen to that crud on a political forum. Until Bill O'Reilly's humungous ratings drove him off of MSNBC I literally wanted to throw my soda glass at the TV whenever he started spouting off. There was man was absolutely disgusting.

Ain't s***. We got this. f*** the Rays and their hipster, douchebag manager.

Notice how many times the camera zeroed in on Maddon today? It seems like it was every damned minute. Unlike a lot of you I think he is a good manager, but I get the impression that TBS is trying to make him out to be a TV idol. To be honest I got a little pissed off seeing his face shown repeatedly on the screen today. It if wasn't overkill I don't know what is.

This game 1 went as if it was scripted. Rays defense cracks in the 4th inning....piling even more pitches on opponent starter who is already being put through Red Sox meat grinder.....Starter soon gone, Sox feasting on bullpen while their own starter pitches very very well into the late innings. Could have been any of dozens of regular season games maybe with the possible exception of Lester going a little deeper than usual for him. End result, Maddon and his Rays mates sink back into the muck and sand at the bottom of the ocean with the rusting beer cans and used rubbers....a fitting end for them.

Detroit/Oakland looked about like a scripted Tigers regular season game. Oakland stuck in K-ville

I don't think people believe Maddon a bad manager unlike that other guy that also reads too many of his own press clippings and is no longer gracing any dugout. I do think people believe that Maddon does spend too much time looking for his own press clippings. I also think many believe Maddon goes a little bit too far especially when he implies that he has some innate understanding for how a player on another team or a whole bunch of players on some other team feel about something or think about something. That is all to get under a player's skin. It is a waste of time and if anything it does make Maddon look stupid. He either thinks himself some sort of mind reader....stupid and/or thinks anybody cares....also stupid. Maddon's been running the same game on everybody for so long that there can't possibly be an opponent player left on the planet that would pay any attention to him. Beyond too much shifting and playing too many of his "genius" hunches he seems to be a pretty decent manager though with as many good points and flaws to recommend him as Farrell.

Maddon sets himself up as some sort of guru though. As a result when he does make an obvious mistake we tend to jump on it more or notice it more. He makes plenty of them.....buckets of them....as does just about anybody occupying the ultimate second guessed job. He is a card carrying ******* though and he is always going to be hated on that score alone.

Didnt get to watch the game tonite, had be on a train all night loading coal for America and wondering how the Sox were doing. When i got cell service back i was soo pleased to see game 1 be such a blow out. I hope the offense keeps rolling. And well done Lester well done sir!!

I also liked to note. Carl Crawford strikes out top of the 9th to end the game with a runner on first in a 3 - 4 ballgame. Classic. Choke artist.

For what pitcher is it usual to pitch into the 8th?

Hit by that old reading deficiency again I see.
