^^^ 100% agree

Carl Crawford has to be one of the most annoying players ever to wear a Sox uniform. The f***er literally KILLED us every time he played us while with the Rays, he was a pain in the ass his whole career. Then, he ends up joining the Sox and I was actually pretty excited, he was a great player with the Rays and most importantly, we wouldn't have to face him anymore, than he blows ass with the Sox and blames it on everything but himself.

f*** Carl Crawford.

He's a victim with a $142 million contract. Please spare me. Edited by a700hitter

Another $14M victim....hummmm....that is a familiar sounding number attached to a familiar sounding story. There are very few truly likable baseball players left in the ML's. There's Pedey....and then there's Pedey and well Pedey and.......

Anyone else really pumped for this Dodgers series? This is probably the most excited I've been for a late season game in a long, long time.

Sure, you're excited now. But if we're losing 2-0 after 3 innings tonight and having bad at-bats, you'll be furious.

Just giving you a hard time, man...

SFF is a great fan and poster who has a positive outlook most of the time for the team, but when his emotions get the better of him, he makes a 180 degree turn. When he gets emotional, he can doom and gloom as much as anyone. That's okay. Being a fan is an emotional roll coaster. At least he sticks around to commiserate when the going gets tough unlike the pink hats who disappear.

Of course. The anger comes with the excitement. Can't have one without the other.

Thanks a700 - sometimes this team pisses me off to no end (see: Blue Jays series). Guess it just comes with the territory.

We're in the same boat. 9 times out of 10, we're as optimistic as it gets but every now and then the rage comes out. It happens.

Totally understand. As far as the game threads go, sometimes when a frustrated optimist gets in a rage it's pretty hilarious.

I really think this team is going to go on a tear any day now. They're due, big time, to rattle off like 15 of 18. Haven't done that basically at all this year.

Maybe it will start when Buchholz gets back. A rotation of Buch Lester Peavy Lackey Doubront is a really, really strong rotation that can string together 3-4 rotations of really good starts.

Is Buch pitching a rehab game this weekend?

Yup. Rehab game on Sunday, followed by another rehab game (likely 8/30). Depending on how that goes and whether the PawSox have any games left (i.e. if they make the playoffs), either 1 more rehab game or back to the Sox.

If he comes back to the Sox, he'll likely start on 9/4 or 9/5 against Detroit, then against TB and NYY. If he takes the extra rehab start, he'll probably be back around 9/10 @ TB, which would also line him up for the home series vs NYY for his next start.

Lol exactly. Obviously the atmosphere isn't the problem, he just flat out sucked. Really do hope the Sox bury the Dodgers this weekend. It would be a huge relief to walk out of there with a series win or a sweep.

Maybe Lackey will drill him. ;)

Great post. He knows he can getout of hand too, so I always try to guide him back into his optimistic ways.

I'm pumped because of the possibility of winning a series vs the hottest team in baseball right now. I really do hope we beat them. This team has yet to go on a long streak like the Dodgers or Braves. If they can do that and manage to make the playoffs with ease, I'd be so happy.
