Lester:

Versus Bruce Chen, whom the Red Sox have beaten up on numerous occasions. It's time for Lester to get back on track, time for Napoli to get back on track, time to f***ing win without drama. There is no reason two games against the Astros should have been so nerve-wracking. So win, easily and early. Go Sox.

f*** the Royals.

Plenty of time to bring up Boegarts or Middlebrooks - and most likely when nobody is looking. Trip was a good chance to do it, but not exactly shocked.

That's what I think. It's not like we're losing games left and right.

So....on a team that is incredibly susceptible to strike throwing LHP, we are going to use Holt over Snyder?? I am baffled as to why the hell we even have Snyder up here at all.

Another complicating factor with Boegarts is getting him onto the 40-man roster ... expect THAT to happen before August 31. Because of the season ending injuries to Bailey, Kalish, Hanrahan, Miller - up to 4 September callups can be on the playoff roster. But they have to be on the 40-man first.

That's not an issue in the least. Bailey is still on the 15 day DL. Throw him on the 60 day and you've got a spot instantly.

True. Forgot that option was still there.

Is there a downside to DFA'ing Snyder?

Aside from exposing him to waivers, not really. I suspect they'd like to see if a team would at least offer them a handful of magic beans or something first.

Yankees would snag Snyder in a second. Remember... this is a team who picked up Lillibridge.

I hope they do. They can have Michael Young while they are at it. I hope they win a few more games so they get a crappier draft pick.

I figured at some point today we'd hear that Micheal Young was traded to the Yankees. But he may block a trade there now since they are doing so badly he would probably rather just stay on the Phillies if he has to be on a crappy team instead of looking for a house or apt in new york. Im just glad to Sox arent making a run at him.

Either WMB or Bogie would be the best option now at 3rd. So call one of them up.

Well this is starting nicely. Actually this Royals team worries me way more than Houston did and we have four here.

"Lester is not looking particularly sharp here in the first inning."

wonder how many times that's been said this season

Certainly was not sharp the last time out in the first inning and never recovered. 30 pitches already.
