I'm astounded. Soft-tossing pitcher we've never seen before is normally a recipe for disaster.

Aaaaand we have visual contact on the 7-run rule.

You know we actually had a pretty interesting discussion about this today. This is mostly a myth.

My god the entire team looks so jacked up right now. Almost everyone is hitting tonight. Philly bringing out the beast on Boston lol? Or just Cloyd?

Feast today, tomorrow might be famine with Lee.

I remember us handling him pretty good last year. Salty took him out to deep center. One of the 10 longest shots of that year in the bigs and Jarrod's only bomb off a lefty in 2012 IIRC.

Ellsbury was the most hated man on Earth according to Talksox about 30 hours ago.

Being a leadoff hitter with a sub .320 OBP will do that to you.

Yeah, I skimmed that discussion. Mostly a question of what we remember, I'd guess. I mean, when we get shut down for 8 innings by Biff McTurkle and his 82 mph fastball, it's seared (seared!) into our memories. Especially since Biff McTurkle is usually out of organized baseball and flipping burgers before the year is out.

Fixed.

I seriously hope that Aceves never discovers how much the posters here hate him because if he does, I fear for the safety of all of our families.

That's exactly the problem. It's easy to remember when they get dominated by Jurjjens and his 89-MPH FB because "Wtf why aren't they hitting this bum?". It's harder to remember when they beat the s*** out of Tyler Cloyd because "Yeah hammering the s*** out of this bum is exactly what they should have done". The reverse applies to good pitching.

I see BTR posting about how we handled Lee once last year even though he has historically stuck it to the Sox so bad that Red Sox teams from the 30's can feel it.

1 run, 1 BB and only 4 hits for Aceves through 4. I know the defense is playing great and all but still...

He probably kidnapped the BABIP Gods' children and mailed them their severed fingers as a warning.

I wasn't arguing with you. I have vivid memories of Lee imposing his will on us on several occasions.

No no. I'm merely talking about the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Lee. That's the last time he pitched against the Sox (iirc) and he didn't fare well at all.
