Even with Webster/Doubront pitching back to back we'd still prob need 3 innings from our actual bullpen. Damn.

This is like a delay start for Doubront. He still look bad, almost 100 pitches just to get 5 inning in while allowing a touchdown.

Hmmm...Ross was catcher for Webster's first start...I'm getting those bad thoughts about Salty again.

I'm looking for explanations, and this is about the best one I've seen so far.

Sort of grabbing at straws when talking about somebody as young and unpolished as Webster. I know its not good news but he is just too young and inexperienced to be here yet. We'd like it to work cause nothing else looks very appealing. But, the FO is going to have to figure something out cause the answer is not Webster.....not yet.

Maybe we should start calling various penal systems around the country and see if we can find Vincente Padilla.

So... better luck next time, Webster? He still hasn't showed us his vaunted slider.

and the Red Sox will be tied for 1st with Baltimore after this. SAD! :(

We have had a surprising fast start and played much better than the experts expected, but for a reality check the O's will have an identical record if we lose this game and the Yankees are 2 games behind us with half of a team.

Never thought I would see the day this season where we put up 7 runs and still get blown out. :( time to cry.

If the Sox don't walk off, which, all joking aside, is still possible with the Twins' pitching staff, I vote for VA making tomorrows' GT. We haven't had VA mojo yet and I need a Sox win on my birthday, or I'll just snap.

These kind of games annoy me to no end. f***ing s*** stain, nobody, small market teams that dont even finish with a winning record have NO BUSINESS vulturing wins from us!! NONE!!! I would've been fine if we had this kind of game after sucking the first month (which many people thought would happen before the season started) but don't tease me with success and then put this steaming pile of s*** in front of me!!

I don't know why they are warming Tax either but the way he has used the pen is the one major complaint I have about Farrell so far.

The last couple days have been such a blur...maybe Taz is in for lack of work. When did he go last?

Someone will beat me to it. I'm all anal and wait for the Sox line up to be posted before I start it. May have to make a YOTN Birthday exception!

The interesting thing about Farrell as manager in Canada is while most of his headlines were about outs on the base paths, underlying that was a fair bit of press about overusing some arms out of the pen and running through pen arms like crazy. Granted the Jays ended up with some injuries in the pen but to be frank much of what you can read regarding Farrell's use of the Toronto pen pretty closely mirrors what we have seen here. Use of the pen has been about my only complaint about Farrell. You would have to give Farrell a pretty positive report card on balance so far. However use of the pen is something of a concern I think.
