Jarvis Jones was a great pick. Dude is going to help replace Harrison immediately and is a complete stud. Was very surprised Jets didn't take him.

Vikings made out like bandits with Floyd and Rhodes, then they blow it up by trading the rest of their draft to take a WR at 29.

A lot of teams improved today. Only a couple of wideouts taken in round 1 (via tradeup though), no RBs, only 1 QB. Lots of solid O and D linemen picked up by teams that needed them.

Dion Jordan at #3 easily is the biggest reach in the first round.

Manuel was a reach at 16 but there were rumors he would go in the late 1st round possibly. He's not going to start most likely as they have Kolb at the moment.

idk why but I'd like to see the Pats roll the dice on the Honey Badger in the next couple picks if he's available.

Is HB projected as a nickel/slot corner? Arrington is fine in that role. His return skills wouldn't be used much since they have Washington and Edelman.

If he's around in the 3rd, I'd think about it.

I'm not sure who is the best pick available for the Jags to take to start the 2nd. I can see them taking a QB (Smith/Barkeley) but I'd much rather they take one of the defensive lineman left (Moore, Jenkins, and there was a guy from Alabama (Williams?) who I can't quite remember.

I'm pretty sure one of those QB's will be available in the 3rd round should the Jags want it, either that or they'd inevitably suck again this year so they can pick a QB at the top of next years draft.

It's fine to use 2nd round picks on questionable QB's. If Barkley is available with Pats' second pick, they should take him. He's a guy that needs to sit for a year or two. Good character, good team leader.

Really surprised Manti is still on the board. You would think the best college defensive player of the last decade would've managed to go in the top 32.

Jets might be taking a QB in the 2nd round. Why don't they draft some talent for one of their 12 QB's they have on the roster already? Ryan is gone after this season and the new coach is gonna want his own QB. It will be a waste of a pick imo.

I am puzzled a little by the Giants. Their defense sucked balls and they address it in the 2nd and 3rd round by adding to their already strong D line without addressing their bare bones LB corps and thin CB corps.

In terms of the Jets, I think they killed it. Milliner was a need pick and a good one. I think Richardson gives them a front 3 for the future with Wilkinson and Coples that they can build off of. Geno Smith was probably the best QB in the draft and they got him in the second round. That allows them to release Sanchez, who is the worst QB I have ever seen play. Don't know much about Winters, but they do need some interior help on the O line to complement Ferguson and Mangold. They also dealt their 4th rounder for Chris Ivory, who I think will be a very good bell cow back in this offense. All in all, I think the Jets picked best player available their first 3 selections and shored up their defense while adding their future QB, their now HB and adding depth to the line. This new GM is going to do some things for the Jets

I don't think they release Sanchez because of the massive cap hit.

Milliner was a good pick. Richardson makes little sense for their style D, there were plenty of other directions they could have gone there. Geno Smith? lol There is a reason he dropped like a stone. Jets aren't going to be very good this year and it likely costs Rex his job. Why not just go with the QB's they already have for this year and look for some pieces on offense? Then when they suck this season the new coach can come in and start with "his" QB. Instead they are going to cut Sanchez(take a big cap hit this season or spread over two) and will be in the same boat as they were with Rex and Sanchez with the new coach coming in with a questionable QB already in place.

I mean don't get me wrong, as a Pats fan this is all great and should provide plenty of distractions again for the Jets. I just don't get why they keep doing this to themselves.

Looks like half the teams in the division are going to try and bring the read option into play. They all better hope the read option isn't some flash in the pan package like the wildcat was. The 2nd year of the wildcat was ugly for teams trying to implement into their offense.

And apparently the Giants are only capable of drafting D linemen. I mean seriously do they not understand your allowed to draft other positions? I mean they do great with their D line, but their secondary and LB corps are thin and needed some new talent. Maybe it's a new defensive set, 3 DT and 8 DE, everyone blitzes every play and pray the QB misses if he gets the ball off in time?

BSN, Richardson makes a lot of sense for a team moving to a 3-4. They need a big bodied DT, something they just don't have on the roster. The guy only had one good season, but he shredded the Tide O-line which was filled with all NFL starting caliber talent. His talent is immense and their needs were everywhere. Picking best available is what they did. Geno Smith was the consensus best QB is the draft. They got him in the second round. That's a steal. Even if Rex loses his job, having a groomed 2nd yr player is better than hoping you can land a potential franchise guy next yr. I agree that the Jets will suck in 2013. They're going to be around the same as they were last yr, 5-11, 6-10. But the pieces for future success are there without having to fill holes with expensive players while they try to get out of cap hell.

Also, lets say Rex gets fired, you're going to have 12 months of practice footage and an entire season of play from Geno to make a decision on. Who knows, maybe he's actually capable of throwing the ball near his targets and not running into his own O linemen? What I like about Geno is his accuracy. The kid can throw it through a pinhole. What I don't like is that he's what they call a slow read, which is a mental thing. They're going to have to work on that, but that kind of accuracy with big arm strength and good QB speed is not common in players who fall to the second round.

In terms of my favorite team, the GMen, I am wondering if they just picked best available instead of need. I think Hankins is a beast, but they had much bigger needs. Yeah, upgrading the O line is nice, but our D was second worst to the worst D of all time last season, so that's no good. I know we sucked stopping the run, but we couldn't stop the pass either. And maybe we replaced Umenyiora long term with our third rounder, but we have no breathing linebackers right now

Giants getting Nassib as a "value" pick doesn't impress me. Why not fill a need instead? I guess the hope is another team will give them picks for Nassib down the line, but if he's so valuable, why'd he drop to the 4th round? Plus other teams know Eli isn't going anywhere, so it's not like the Giants have a lot of leverage.

Or are they thinking something else here?

I really liked the Steelers draft. Jones and Bell will likely start away and Markus Wheaton has Mike Wallace speed and the Steelers usually hit when they draft WR's. (Wallace and Sanders were 3rd rounders and brown was a 6th rounder).

Not really sure about Landry Jones, not a big fan of him, but I do like the pick of getting a young QB to backup Ben, rather than having Leftwich and Batch's old asses backing him up again. I've also heard good things about this safety Shamarko Thomas.

Definitely happy with the way this draft turned out.

Nassib was a value pick, I agree that it doesn't make sense. The Giants lack LB and CB depth and so they select none of them and pick a S, a DE, a DT, a LT and a QB in the first five selections. I don't get it. They must have their eye on something out there or they're sure Amukamara can step up as a shut down corner. We have safeties galore and a bunch of good D linemen, but have nothing in between on D.

Also, the Jets sucked the moosecock on day 3. I loved their moves on day 1 and initially on day 2. I thought Ivory was a solid decision. But Geno has nobody to throw to aside from Holmes and so you go with three straight Guards? I know a good O line should keep this kid upright, but nobody to throw to will have him getting coverage sacked

They will convert those guards into TE and go with a 3 TE look and just run the read option with Smith, Tebow, and Ivory and completely bi pass the passing game all together
