I think the RH pitcher is what kept Gomes out and has Salty in.

I understand that, but with Napolis 32.9% K Rate and Middlebrooks' 30.2% K rate, I don't want another huge K rate, and at least Gomes (26.5%) is an improvement over Saltys horrendous 35.6%. That's disgusting.

Wonder if there are any numbers for either Gomes vs Guthrie or Salty vs Guthrie that mattered to Farrell. There must at least be some numbers cause Guthrie has been around forever.

In the case of Napoli for example it just does not seem to matter that he is batting RH....Guthrie throws right into the plane of his swing. I am surprised Guthrie is not throwing and ducking with Naps at the plate.

Looks like Salty is 5/10 against Guthrie, and Gomes is 3/9 against him, with 3 walks. So, both have seen good results.

The way left field is designed at Fenway can be tough. There is that one foot of foul ground and bang you are running into ten feet of wall. Then on hard hit balls down the line they might continue down the line or carom off toward CF

Napoli was a bad signing, amiright ital?

Yeah, sure, whatever. Our argument was NOT about whether or not Napoli was a bad signing. It was whether or not he was doing well at the moment. And at the moment of your post, he wasn't doing well.

I don't understand why you keep bringing it up. It's not like his future stats make you correct at that time so it's not going to change anything. You'll be just as wrong then as you will be 10 years from now.

Now drop it like a ball popped up to Salty.

Lol, some things just never die on this forum huh?

Yeah, I dont really hate Nava.......hes a fine bench player.

I will never let the Salty thing go, just as I never let the Beckett thing go.

He is under a bizarre compulsion to make every post about another poster. We are all enjoying Napoli's big night, except for MVP who views it as settling scores.
