How'd you get NESN outside New England region?

I have Verizon Fios and it's part of the Sports Package. But it only recently showed up and it's not an HD channel which completely sucks.

It isn't blackout? Strange.

Hmms you're better off just grabbing MLB.tv premium for just around $120 yearly, allows you to watch all games for all 30 teams in HD.

I have MLB Extra Innings for the regular season. If NESN televises the ST games the I watch them there. But damn does SD SUCK!

Clay was good. Tazawa was good. The last few innings were ugly.

The starting pitching has been surprisingly very good and we should all keep our fingers tightly crossed that this isn't just a tease or a mirage. You win titles with starting pitching; it's the key to any team. Here, however, is where I open a Pandora's Box because of a very strong theory or belief, take your choice, that most disagree with even on the other board I post on.

That is, we must stop losing these ST games in bunches as we've been doing lately, what, six of the last seven? This happened in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and we got off to rotten starts in all those seasons. A team has to have some real momentum heading into the season and you don't g et that from losing games one after another. This is a fairly new team we're putting out there this season and they have to believe they have the confidence to win and you can't get that by losing one game after another. Dropping Grapefruit League games earlier in March is no big thing. I think losing them late in ST is a very big thing and it can hurt us as it has in the past and has hurt other teams.

Before the Pro-basketball season began, the LA Lakers were figured on being in the Western Conference Finals and maybe making it to the grand show. They lost all eight of their pre-season games, got off to a miserable start and have played like s*** all season, including a class 18 point blow job last night to the lowly Washington Wizards. I really believe we had better start winning most of the games from here on in until the regular season begins because I do not think this team can survive with another miserable start.

That is just my opinion but I feel very strongly about it.

it's like getting your eyes stabbed watching Ellsbury and Victorino with a week left to opening day. Once again they can't hit the ball more than 90 feet.

Geez don't we wish we had spent a scadzillion $$$$ on Cliff Lee when we had the chance? Holly Cow. Any idea what kind of a spring Lee has been having?

It's getting overlooked bc of Bradley, who has driven in 4 of the Sox 6 runs against a guy in Lee who allowed a .626 ops against vs LHH last year, but Brandon Workman has looked pretty good today. Good FB, sharp curve, and a change he can show. At worst, he's at least a guy that could fill in fairly adequately as a deep depth option this season.

While the added strength is likely also aiding Iggy, I still think the shorter swing allowing for a quicker bat is really what might turn out to be the key for him. That swing looks nothing like the swing he started with last year (just terrible) or ended with last year (not terrible is the best I can say for that one).

I called it up thread. Workman is a guy who could help us in either a bullpen or a rotational role if we need him.

We have a lot of guys ahead of him though so hoping it doesn't get that far. He has my attention though.

I just found the info on Lee although not in splits. Before today he has given up 15 hits and 10 runs, 7 earned in 11.1 innings pitched recording a 5.56 ERA. Today's performance is surely not going to make those numbers look any better.

And that is exactly what I have been talking about with JBJ in LF. That is the second error in judgement he has made in LF this spring. CF is all about legs and secondarily an arm. RF is all about an arm and secondarily it would nice to have legs. LF is about judgement. All kinds of judgement plays for a LF especially in Fenway.

Bard is very quickly out of pitches without that change and I think his FB is not as lively as it was at one time. Not sure where it is going sometimes but it does not seem to move like it did. Good chance of Bard being cannon fodder even if he is not sending every other batter to a waiting ambulance if he cannot do something with that change.
