I don't care if you laugh at my team, hell, I am laughing at them too. I would just temper your enthusiastic critiquing seeing as your team will be in line for a lottery pick this yr while my team ended their season in the ALCS. The good thing is, you guys should be relevant again in...maybe...2015? Enjoy the next few yrs!!

And, while we cannot jettison our biggest annoyance in ARod, we can easily jettison two of our biggest annoyances in Swisher and Granderson while actually getting something of significant value for them.

Just heard an interesting stat.

Nick Swisher now holds the major league record for the lowest batting average with RISP

in Mlb playoff history(min 25 ab's)

(Joe Girardi and Bill Buckner are right behind him)

Don't want to hear people laugh at your team? You want to laugh at the bad year the Sox had? Wrong site genius.

Pretty much this. If you're on a rivals forum, you should expect stuff like this. Jacko you've been here forever you should know this by now.

Hear that everyone? Jacko's crystal ball now has us out of relevancy till 2015. His next post will have us down and out till 2025.

A yankmee fan worried about relevancy?

Here, this is relevant:

20 of the dreaded 27 rings that the rest of the world get's shoved up it's ass on a daily basis are 50 years old or older but then again you guys still shove 1918 up our ass.

Who dominates the AL series over you in the last DECADE?

Who dominates in WS titles in over you in the last DECADE?

Who spent the most money to keep on top in the last DECADE?

Now that's relevant.

Just keepin' s*** real, the rest of the baseball world is laughing. Have fun trading a-roid.

You have to look at the reality that in recent history the yankoffs shouldn't be putting anyone down in fact the NL appears to be the place that new dynasties are in the works.

That's why they are dumping the Astro's on us.

Tigers are 10-3 against the Yankees in the playoffs this decade. Tigers are the only team to win 3 consecutive series against the Yankees. Tigers are the first team since the 1922-1923 Giants to eliminate the Yankees in consecutive series. After every elimination, it's always how the Yankees lost. I find it ironic Austin Jackson homered off Sabathia and Phil Coke closed the game while Granderson was benched.

Ah yes, the old arbitrary cutoff rule. How about this. Who has dominated the Red Sox in playoff appearances and world series titles since 2009? This is moronic. I've seen 5 world series titles and I am barely over 30. You've seen two, although based on your typing, you were likely an infant when they won in 2004. And yes, 20 of the rings were over 50 years old. That means we've won 7 in the last 50 years. How many has your team won in that span? And yes, 1918 isnt relevant anymore, how many Yankee fans have even mentioned it on this board since 2004? Sometimes you are a complete idiot. Most times, you're retarded

Any comments from Yankee fans regarding all the talk about Long and whether or not he got the Yanks prepared for post season pitching and if their swing for the fences hitting style, every swing, every at bat (except for Ichiro and Jeter) is a direct result of how Girardi wants it and how Long teaches it?
Posted
I am glad that Girardi had some initial success with pinch hitting for ARod, because it made him think that benching ARod would be a good idea. Benching one of the greatest players in history in favor of an older player is not a good idea. Maybe ARod breaks out in one of those games and carries the team for a couple of games. We'll never know, but we do know that Girardi is a stooge. See ya next season Yanks.

a700, had you watched the games? His ABs vs righties were historically bad. He never got his timing back after his hand injury and my guess is we will learn of other issues as the off season drones on. He'll be back next yr and should contribute, although he isn't one of the greatest players of all time anymore. He's an old, broken down version of a great player

If you are looking at contemporary success lets stick to the 21 century. 2000 and forward. Based on $pankee rule on success: anything short of a championship is a failure should be used as the measurering stick. With that said the Cardinals have a shot to move to the top of this list with a WS win this season. If they don't win then they are tied with who?

Sox 2 titles and Cards 2 titles

Personally I think benching A-Rod for the last two games, while many other guys were slumping just as bad, sends a clear message that they want him gone. And I think there's a very good chance they will trade him, but it will be one of those 'creative' deals, with lots of goodies for the other team. Maybe they will package a more attractive player with A-Rod, a la the Sox-Dodgers caper.

Long has to go. Two consecutive postseasons have seen our offense melt.

Hmmm, in the last two consecutive postseasons they were eliminated by the Tigers. Maybe they just ran into good pitching? Either way I'm glad the Yankees chose to melt versus the Tigers.

Yanks have 2 during your time frame.

Our offense sucked vs the Orioles too.

This doesn't seem likely based on what Cashman said today.

"It's not like I'm going to hang phones up on anybody who wants to make any overtures about anything," Cashman told O'Connor. "You're talking about realistic stuff and unrealistic stuff. I don't think it's realistic at all for us to be moving forward with anything but Alex Rodriguez at third base.

"He's still an above-average third baseman. ... That means despite the contract that we had committed to him, that he's an asset at this stage still. I don't see us doing anything there. I don't anticipate it. If someone wants to make phone calls, we're more than willing to do all that stuff with any of our players, and that's fine. You can run into something that way.

"But listen, the sooner we put to bed any expectation or anticipation that the Yankees are going to be solely focused on trying to move Alex Rodriguez. ... I think that would be false. And it would be just a lot of wasted energy on anybody's part to be thinking."
