Yankees always find some way to blow it, don't think they'll be at 2. Nats aren't experienced, I'd put Reds at No. 1.

Seattle has gone 21-13 since the all star break, the second best record in the AL. They are currently at 58-64 (last in the AL West). They are 8.5 out of the wild card. They have won t 5 straight and have jumped over Minnesota, Cleveland and Toronto. We are next on the list. I know it is still very unlikely, but you never know what will happen in baseball.

...on the other hand, the Pirates are doing well, which means that my uncles and father are happy. They all stopped watching baseball in 94 after the combination of the strike (cementing their growing belief that players are spoiled, I guess) and the Pirates sucking. They are all following the race with one eye but no one wants to be the one to get all-into it again for fear of being labelled a bandwagoner. We still go to games when we visit the family in Butler but no one really has cared for quite a while.

It sucks though, because three teams that have not done well for way too long are doing very well this season, and two of them are pissing me off because they are doing it after fans who were close to me have died: My grandfather for the Pirates and Ami for the Orioles. I am hoping for the Pirates to go far this season, as the Sox are likely out of it and with my Pittsburgh roots there is no other team capable of winning the WS that I would willingly cheer for. But given the fact that they are in the AL East, I cannot bring myself to support the Orioles. Somehow, I think she'd understand that.

Since the Sox will be home in October I become a fan of who ever is playing the $panks. I like seeing some new teams do well (Pirates or Nats). The bottom line is I pull for who ever is playing the $pankies. They say life is to short to hate, but not when it against the $panks.
