Im sorry for picking on your team. I know you and mommy put forth a ton of effort hanging all those posters on your wall, and you still love to wear your Redsox jammies.

This is almost exactly what I thought you'd say. Nice response.

And by the way, yeah, sorry, I love this team even during bad seasons. See, a real fan doesn't care more about whether or not they predicted something than about the well being of the team they cheer for.

Shouldn't you be a Rays fan by now??? Or, wait, no, I'm sorry. You like to cheer against teams and then be happy when they fail. So...maybe you should be a Twins or a Royals fan. Sorry the Pirates have disappointed you so much this year.

Wow. Crawford to go under surgery on Tuesday??

They should have done this 4 weeks ago. Atleast now he will still be on schedule to be ready by April 2013.

Tomorrow should mark the beginning of their sole focus shifting to making this team better in 2013 and beyond. To continue trying to salvage this season, outside of giving the prospects a good look, is a lost cause.

Well, Crawford will be leaving on a moderately high note. He's now playing at about a third of the level of what he's being paid. It would be half if he was stealing more bases. If they don't have him stealing more, they should trade him--because they'll never get close to the value they're paying him unless he runs.

Well, Im glad were both on par.

You already knew you wouldn't like my response, yet you took a shot at me anyway.

Im allowed to say as I'd like, just as you.

The only way things will change, is if fans stop caring and they become irrelevant. Being irrelevant is not exactly a good business model, and thats all they are in the eyes of LL and JH.

Bad baseball = no money = change.

EDIT: See you added a ton of nonsense at the end after I responded. I believe questioning a fans "fandom" has gotten people banned around here......actually I am 100% positive it has.

We can only pray that the Sox send Aviles packing and bring up Iglesias. Put Ciriaco at 3B, Iglesias at SS.

I'd also like to see Ciriaco get some time in the OF because he'd be a nice UTIL player next year.

Hi all just home from takin' the kids to see Paranorman. just wanted to boost the game thread post count and say hello.

Sounds like Lavs is catching a better game than Salty already. Although not sure why Lavs wanted that pitch where he targeted. Beckett missed it but not by that much.

I don't ever question it unless it's a legitimate question, and I stand by it.

If I get banned for it, fine. But I've never seen a fan so excited about being right that the team sucks.

Iglesias is not a major league caliber offensive player. Not even close. As I pointed out before, His slugging is actually lower than his OB%.

To accomplish that, you have to be almost inept offensively.

I want Beckett and Salty out........thats all I have ever wanted.

Rock bottom = Beckett serves up a home run to f***ing Ichiro Suzuki in pinstripes in mid August 2012 while we are south of .500 and the yankoffs run away with the division again.

f*** it, it can only get better from here.

That's fine, I want them both out too. But I'm still really pissed about the Sox sucking, and that this board has gone to a ghosttown because of the Sox s***** play.

Add Aviles to my list, too.

I agree with this 100% and don't understand why Aviles is still starting games with this team. He's done adequate - about what many expected of him this season. He's not in the long term plans for this team at shortstop and yet they keep throwing him out there.

At best, he's a backup infielder on a contending team at this point. Throw Iglesias out there and let him face major league pitching with his new plate approach. Like you and others have posted on this forum, all he has to do is hit around .250, obp around .300, and make productive outs in his AB. His defense will more than make up for his line at the plate if it's close to this.

After all, this offensive line is what Aviles has given us all season.

Ozzie Smith posted a .589 OPS and a 4.2 WAR.

HanRam hit 21 HR, 76 RBI, and 32 SB, hit .300/.378/.475 and posted a 4.6 WAR.

Defense up the middle is a big deal.

Then don't argue with me.

I want the same thing you do........it's ghost town, but Im still here just as you are.

The things that I say Im "right" about.....if they change those things, they will be better off.

The thing that pisses me off, is that some of the things I continue to point out.....they were obvious a long time ago. This didn't happen over night......this has been slowly developing for 2 years. Yeah....they were hot for a stretch last year, but as a whole.....they were unlikable from day 1.

Ozzie Smith was a hall of fame player.

Rey Ordonez was a whiz with the glove. What happened to him and his limited offensive talent?

It is true that a number of the Sox issues have been brewing for a pretty long time now. In part its why I think it likely will take longer than one off season to fix. I can take the bad mix of personalities on a team as much as it makes you shake you head but I really struggle with a bad mix of player strengths and weaknesses and that is really what the Sox have in spades.

Ordonez never hit .270 in AAA, either. And on top of that, he never had a lineup like the Red Sox hitting around him to be able to hide his bat.

He's not going to win any batting titles, but he can make productive outs (i.e. hitting the ball on the right side of the infield with a man on 2nd), and make the fundamental offensive plays that this team struggles with on a daily basis.

Plus, he is walking much more, and he's got a .843 OPS in August, and he's hitting .284 with a .344 OBP since the ASB.

Don't you just love to see Swisher looking foolish up there. Although I have to admit, seeing Swisher grinning like some idiot rounding the bases, is the absolute worse thing in the world.

Holy s***. This is Cherrington talking about Bard in 2013.

Cherington said that there have not been any discussions to this point about whether he might come to spring training next year as a starter or reliever.

"We haven’t talked about that. Right now just focused on getting him going on right track. He knows exactly what he needs to do and he’s working on it everyday and there are days where he’s a click away and maybe he is. He’s got enough talent," said Cherington. "The role is something we can talk about in the offseason."

You haven't DECIDED whether he'll be in the bullpen or a starter?!?! WHAT?!?!

I would give anything to punch him in the face with a 10 lb. dumb bell in my hand.

Multiple times.

Oh my God no. The worst thing about this is not what it says potentially about Bard. The worst thing is that it makes it sound like the are already planning to be f***ed in the rotation. You can't convince me in a month of Sunday's that they would want Bard starting next year.
