Maybe the FO will do nothing again this offseason. Maybe they will tell us that good health will be the key, and a full season from Franklin Morales as a starter and Bailey in the pen, and Middlebrooks and Lavarnway and we will be on our way back to the top. I wouldn't put it past them, but if they tinker around the edges in the off season, I will pursue a different hobby, because they will be competing for last place again. Well, we should be able to beat up on the Astros who will be in the AL so maybe we will get back to.500.

This is just a guess but I am going to guess that if for example the Sox do bring in a VP level guy, that guy would likely want to pick the GM he wants unless he is going to handle the player personnel decisions and uses BC to handle the logistics of player personnel.

There are times NC when I get server error messages stacked up one on top of the other for awhile whether a game thread or otherwise. It just happens sometimes I think. I did not get any during this game thread although I was out up until the 4th inning or so.

China just K'd the batter for Japan with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning. What I have seen of the LLWS this year has been some outstanding baseball...just terrific stuff. Moving the fences back in the major regional ballparks was the best decision they ever made.

You mean Taiwan? The Yankees' Japanese players did the Sox in today

You are right V2. I only stayed long enough to watch that piece of one inning and picked up on the announce team talking about the Chinese players. Never looked close enough to see who the hell they were talking about. Switched back to the Sox game once they recorded that out. That was probably another mistake on my part. Should have stayed to watch that game.

Ichiro really put his signature on this win. Big game from Kuroda, too, who will be in the Cy Young conversation this yr (top 5, won't win it). Once we get CC, Tex, ARod, and Pettitte back, we're gonna be hard to beat

Was a great win and as much as it makes me happy that the Red Sox are in this turmoil, I can't remember the last time a series was so underhyped.

373 posts in 8 years.. First post in almost a full year.. Were you really just sitting there thinking "Oh I should get on talksox and run my mouth because I have nothing better to do!"

Why would you even waste your time?

Yeah because Arod has been so awesome the past few years .

Pettitte might not even be back and if he is I doubt he'll be effective.

I'm sure you were very happy the red sox were in "turmoil" on your join date as well. 6 days later, I doubt you were as happy as you were when you first joined. I'd be willing to bet that on your join date you didn't think there was any way your beloved team would become the only team in 100+ years of playoffs to blow a 3-0 series lead in a best of 7 series.

You never know what's going to happen in this game. Look at those days in 2004 and the month of September and into the playoffs last year. The one thing that may be constant in this game is change- for better or for worse. The rest is a crap shoot. There may be better bets to choose from, but nothing is certain.

Happy Galavanting!

And I still have the Rangers laying the smackdown on that ass.

This is pretty dumb. Pettitte is starting a throwing program and will be back within 2-3 weeks. ARod hasnt been ARod, but his numbers this yr are still very solid. It also allows Chavez or ARod to DH.

What Henry should have done. He never replaced Epstein.

The problem is, you have Lucchino effectively running the team AND the marketing department. That cannot be the case in Boston. What puts butts into seats and sells memorabilia isnt always the best thing for the team

No Wilson, no Lewis, no Lee. I am not as worried about them as I am the Angels or Tigers

That year that they smacked the ball around like batting practice against the Yankees Wilson lost both of those games. The offense is still there and got even better. Still got the Rangers. They don't have a bad rotation at all, they could definitely stick it to the pigs.
