Salty has got to be hurt. I mean he is striking out at historical rates. It may be a good idea to DL him and give him 15 days to clear his head. He's gotten beat up a ton this year. Bring up Lavarnway for a few games.

That was really really close to as much of a mistake as Salty can expect from here on out. Pitchers either need to get in under his hands...not hard to do.....or low and outside or occasionally up and in which he can't get around on. That one got way to much plate and Salty hit it way up in the air.

 

They don't seem to even try up and in anymore....I guess they are worried they will miss with that pitch and put it right in his wheelhouse.

He's not hurt. He's streaky and when he is cold he sucks. He did the same thing at the end of last season. You have to stop making excuses for everyone.

Salty was so good in the beginning of the year. What happened. He's turning into Vlad.

 

Same thing happened last year. When he gets cold it's seriously ugly.

Even in September, at his worst, he only K'd 27 times in 69 PA.

 

He's now K'd 16 times in his past 28 PA.

 

Salty has gotten smashed in the head quite a few times this year by foul balls. I'm not making excuses for him, he's sucking. I'm saying that giving him a couple of weeks may be good for him.

 

I'm not sure how this translates to me making excuses for him. I'm suggesting a way to get him out of his funk.

The Red Sox really need this win tonight... When you get 7 spectacular innings from your number 5 guy, you have to win. Especially when ground needs to be made up.
