Remy said it. But I thought it looked like he just turned his ankle. I can't imagine you can do much damage trotting around the bases.

He was going as fast as Papi goes, if you watch the replay... it was no trot.

Looks like he slipped rounding 2nd. I'm sure it's just a tweaked ankle or something small like that. The baseball gods can't hate us that much.

Ortiz lost a lot of weight and really taking care of his body, eating well and working out. He doesn't deserve to be hurt lets NOT assume anything. Ortiz is fine for all we know.

Lavarnway can come up now and run Ortiz out of town.

Yeah, lets rid ourselves of all of our premiere talent. That should be fun to watch. It's sad that the Boston media has trained everyone that Red Sox players must be run out of town... Sigh.

No' date=' he had slowed down significantly by the time he got to the base.[/quote']

I saw him going hard into second, and he started to slow up as he rounded the base, which probably caused the "tweak"

Lavs will never have a season like Papi is having. He can take over for Salty.

Where is jacko to tell us that it's obvious from the video that Ortiz shattered his femur?

Probably telling some little kid that his stuffy nose is an early sign of cancer.

Hot night. Could be a cramp.

I think it's either a cramp or a tweaked ankle. Nothing major. I just can't imagine a situation where he has slowed to a trot and does any real damage.

The baseball gods ruined Ted Williams shot at several records by sending him overseas, ended Ken Griffey Jr.'s career early due to injury while letting Bonds get the HR title, allow Carl Everett to live a normal life while Kirby Puckett and Gary Carter died in pain, and let Aaron Small and Shawn Chacon pitch like the Niekro brothers for 3/4 of a season. Also, Nick Punto. I think there is no limit to their malevolence.

"Ah, I see..mild headache, sore throat...well, Jimmy, I hope you have your affairs in order. By the way, did you see Phil Hughes pitch the other night? What an ace!"

That is not an ankle...at least I don't think so...he was protecting something higher up the leg with that limp....unfortunately I know from personal experience. Does not have to be a disaster though...he walked off and if he really hammered knee ligaments he would have been on the ground out there at around SS. Could have tweaked the knee. He had way to much weight on the outside of his knee rounding second and then hit the bag strang. Did you see him windmilling his arms trying to get his weight back in? Might have stretched or strained ligaments....much less of a problem and something he could have gotten off on his own power with if that is what happened.

i think it could be a strained groin from the way he was walking to the dugout. He wasn't favoring either leg' date=' jut walking really slow.[/quote']

I thought it looked like he was favoring his right leg, no?

There we go Mike. You are buying yourself time.

I wouldn't DFA him. He'd be an IF utility guy with Ciriaco.

Papi will be OK--after their head trainer works on him for two weeks.

Those two guys at the top of the lineup are bound to help the hitters below them.

Ibanez just hit a salami. It might have even reached the RF grandstand in Fenway.
