And as we saw last night, can't win games when you do put up runs.

This f***ing sucks.

And Jacko isn't nearly as bad as most of the Red Sox fans on this site, so stop bitching about it.

Exactly, and I am sorry, I didnt include your name in my post. I kinda miss having ORS around. He would put me in my place at times, but in a rather witty way. I enjoyed matching wits

How this site has changed. Back when Crunch' date=' VA, ORS, Kilo, and YOTN were regular posters in the thread, they'd have some witty response that made me chuckle when I was boorish. Now, everyone just cries about it. I havent even been bad lately, because I hardly know most of the guys posting here.[/quote']

WTf is a yankee fan doing on this thread

6 runs through 3.1IP is a little much to ask of your offense. Freddy Longball isnt going to hold you scoreless. But the offense starts pressing when down by multiple runs all the time.

Look, we told you how we feel but you know what you are doing anyway.

Ha, no problem. Yeah, I miss a lot of the old posters too. And yankees228, he was great.

This series reminds of the August 2006 five-gamer.

Our dumbass FO will still think we're in it even if we get swept' date=' don't count on them selling because they hate bad PR.[/quote']Jerry Remy told the truth last night. If the Yankees sweep us this weekend or take 3 out of 4 and we are down double digits in the standings it will be almost impossible to catch the Yankees in the second half. A rare moment of truth from a NESN employee and a Red Sox homer.

After this series things will unravel quite fast for the Sox if they get swept. The team was poorly constructed from the beginning and it fell apart much faster than anyone had anticipated. The other teams n the division including the O's improved. We got worse.

The bloom is off Morales rose after facing a real offense. There go any high hopes I had for him. When jayson Nix takes you downtown like that, you ain't much.

Fair enough, yesterday was a competitive game at least... The team today just doesnt look like they care.... I said before maybe they are saving their energy for tonight.... I was joking before but I am really starting to believe that.

Morales is having a bad game. It happens. He has had lots of good games too. I would keep trotting him out there as a SP for the rest of the year and see where he lands.

Catching the Yankees in the standings in what the Red Sox are striding for? That's laughable.

They should worry about getting the second wild card spot at best.

The problem with continuing to look at the offense which I would acknowledge has not provided timely hitting enough this season is that is ignores two things:

1) the starting pitching IS without question the biggest problem this team has why.....because starting pitching is without any question the most important facet of baseball by a long stretch....and this team has none to speak of that has shown any consistency of any kind

2) it ignores something that we no longer should question.....when the offense has to start game after game in a hole, it eventually simply crumbles under that pressure....However this is not a knock on the Sox players particularly....you start off any team in a hole as often as these guys are and they will eventually not bear up to it. Unfortunately we have been forced to watch this two years running but to suggest that this is some form of malady that is a Sox Special is just wrong. Believe me and one or two runs can look like just as deep a hole as 4 or 5 depending on where you are playing and who you are playing. If this team continues to ignore the major problems it has in starting pitching it is going nowhere.....not this year....not next year....not any year.

These guys are now going on a few weeks of starting out in a hole. They dug out the first week or two but eventually just have succumbed to some extent.

Rebuild. It is clear that this Red Sox team should not be in the same league with the Yankees or Texas.

You need some midol' date=' I can prescribe some extra strength for you[/quote']

Mod's on your side now so you can do what you want.

It's like falling behind in the count w/every batter in every game.

Poor offense is always behind.

Ortiz is da bomb. I would f***ing hate it if he left Boston. He deserves to retire in the uniform.

Did you think I was going to ban him? Sorry to burst your bubble.

My thought about Jacko compared to the rest of the board is not the minority among Mods.

Pretty goddam desperate when Kalish is hitting in the 6 spot isn't it.

It's not desperate, it's unfortunate reality. Your team has been decimated with injuries and ineptitude. You just suck it up and see where the chips fall

Totally. Cherry should sell but will probably just watch.

At least the football season is almost here.
