I was referring to Yankee Stadium as the joke.:D

Hard to disagree about that. Gotta give credit to the Yankees for building a team around the short RF porch though.

Wake up. He is having an atrocious season. It's almost beyond repair. Even if he goes on a complete HR tear in the second half' date=' he will have produced well below expectations.[/quote']

Woah. Easy. I'm not defending him. The comment was only talking about the damage he would have done if this was at Fenway.

Hamstring tightness for WMB. That would be a cruel cruel joke if got significantly hurt.

Thats not a new injury, I believe. He described it as a cramp last time and played the next game.

Lillibitch is our insurance against an injury to WMB.

That's been off and on since he was called up. I remember before he was called up, the Sox called up Iglesias because Middlebrooks was battling a tight hammy. Then he was also pulled out of the KC game because of it.

I think it's just cramps more than anything.

And Whew!!! Sox win!!!!!

The season lives another day!!!!!

He hasn't done damage anywhere this year-other than to his team.

Ahh I do recall that now that you mention it. Still, hope it doesn't get worse.

Ballgame! First extra inning win of the year. Sole possession of 3rd place. 1/2 game out of 2nd and a playoff spot. And most importantly, out of Safeco until September.

Well, we won a game we could not afford to lose. Now we gotta to into Oakland and sweep them while the Rays and Yankees duke it out

It's people like you that I laugh at hysterically, who give up on guys like Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford, and then they go through a monster streak and shut you up. It's brilliant, really.

You are cool with me SFF. I'm just incredibly tense over playing these guys this weekend. I feel much better that we wrestled these bums to a draw.:D

But seriously, is there something physically wrong with Gonzo? He can't drive the ball to the track anymore.

Well' date=' the season apparently isnt over. Oh darn[/quote']

By "not over" I specifically mean that the Yankees are still within reach.

So, either way, we gain ground or put separation between (if we win against Oakland) either the Yankees or the Rays this week. Does anyone know where the games are going to be?

As I said earlier in this thread, I am not completely giving up on Gonzalez until he has one more atrocious year like this one. If that happens I will add his name to the list of mistakes Epstein made. Also, I have said many times that I think Crawford will contribute to the team much more than he did last year.

I laugh hysterically at people like you who put words in the mouths of other posters and believe its what they really said.

I know, I am the same way. It's infuriating to watch this team not score runs with the talent.

But, like we said, you get Ellsbury and Crawford back and a lot of these struggles go away.

A good winning streak and a lot of posters would be ghosts around here.

Even in a bad year, he should occasionally charge one up. He doesn't hit the ball long at all.

Hey Pumpsie. Guess what. The Red Sox are 1 game up on the Rays.

Are they better than the Rays?

Yup. You are what your record says you are. Gotta be consistent, right?

Thank God we won this game. Got home late to see us in another tight Safeco deal. Saw something about our record in close games this year which was not all that appealing. We will see more of these close, tight, low scoring games as we get later in the season. Fortunately I am not sure the Yanks team profile is that great in those kinds of games either.
