This team lacks the killer instincts.

Should easily be in second place with about 2-3 games ahead of third place.

We do not have the talent to be in that situation.

Those big contracts didn't help the Sox at all... Nope.

Crawford & Gonzo = busts (currently) :(

And we have been second in line with money doled out for years now and are looking at three years running with no playoffs.

Yanks spend double Red Sox.

WS is expensive when you buy it.

Iggy should be called up. Defensive porn is better than Punto.

Should have been on the opening day roster. Aviles would've filled in for some of the void in OF.

I wonder if Cherry is going to get us an ace ?

If so, it's just Greinke & Hernandez.

Not so sure Hamels & Garza are above #2.

Greinke is a 1 and Hamels is a 2? How do you figure? Hamels has been way better the last 3 years. Even if you include Greinke's amazing 2009 (coupled with Hamels' meh 2009), the numbers are very close.

This team has simply been unable to sustain any sort of long term winning streak. I thought they were onto something when they won 6 out of 9 at home. Then they come out west and it's back to their recent history of west coast swings.

At some point, this team has to be able to win the majority of these types of games and get closer to their expected win/loss record.

The Sox spend money. They just spend it foolishly.

They had an article in one of the newspapers postulating a deal for King Felix. Would you deal Ellsbury and Lester for Felix?

In a heartbeat.

Doubront showing the growing pains of a rookie starter again. His innings limit this season is going to quickly become a non issue if he continues having ineffective outings like this.

Hell yeah. Lester is underachieving in Boston. He would roll in that ballpark.

I would do that trade. Ellsbury is a nice player, but he is turning out to be injury prone and Lester isn't what he once was.

Even if Ells was healthy, I wouldn't think twice.

Winning this series alone would have put us there.

Rays is losing games left and right and the Orioles are not doing much better.

Guess asking for a sweep of the Mariners is too much of a task for the Sox.

Yeah, I agree. I think that you have to think about what those two positions would mean to this team right now. I good outfielders is good, and will help a little bit. But, the sox have a lot of outfielders who can play that position. They don’t have very many starting pitchers at the moment that is the caliber of King Felix (if any). So, Felix would be more valuable.
