Interesting observation by Mitch on Miller and totally accurate. I guess Miller really can't pitch any other way or he would. I have often wondered why all that length never resulted in a motion that looked more like a Randy Johnson motion.

Since I have never seen Miller pitch when he was not coming back from something or pitching in relief I never paid much attention to the fact that I never did see the motion I would have expected from a guy that tall.

86 pitches ' date=' Morales out? Typical overmanagement. No wonder they need 13 pitchers.[/quote']

Yup. He was still very strong.

It's only his 2nd start, can't expect him to throw 100+

6 IP.....still with control amd at 96 MPH....at 87 pitches I believe.

If he wants to, let him start the 7th.

Why is there any question? Of course he should start the 7th.

I don't mind it. He's not as stretched out as an average starter.

What does 'stretching out' mean? That's a new bs term these days they did without for 100 years. Nowadays pitchers are fed quiche for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The result is they DL every 6 weeks out of habit.

A guys goin' good you stick with him.

They don't get enough innings out of their starters.

You gotta get their PCs up gradually, right? I left briefly at the beginning of the inning. Hopefully Morales got to start the seventh. I think that was the right move: allow him one baserunner. His PC was still under 100. Chances are that Cooke is going to need bullpen help tomorrow too...lots of it.

It's pretty common for guys converted from relievers to starters. Usually it happens in Spring Training or AAA.

When you're training for a marathon, you don't run one mile every other day and then just go for the 26.2. You have to build up to it.

But Morales has not started all year. He has been a relief pitcher up until Beckett went on the DL.
