Well' date=' currently the Angels suck just as much as we do. Might be a good series! Chin up![/quote']

No, the Angels suck ALMOST as bad as we do.

They are a win ahead of us and lead us by percentage point.

They are also 4th in the AL in pitching. They will probably get much better.

lol people are hilarious. People think teams talented like the Red Sox and Angels will be this bad all season.

I'm talking in general btw. Not directed to anyone on talksox.

Agons back to his usual swinging at the first pitch thrown up there. Does he not think about what is happening on his own at bats.

I know he loves to take balls to left field but I would love to see what would happen if he would just give himself a chance to swing at the traditional "pound it outta here" pitch to the LH batter...low on the inner third. He swings at that pitch sometimes but he is never looking for it and usually misses it when he does get one of the few chances he gives himself to swing at a pitch like that.

Seriously though??? Why is everyone giving Lester s***?? 4 innings 6 hits 1 bb 3 k's 1 er..... It's not his fault our OF cant catch " a can of corn " ???

For me, because I want an ace to overcome a bad call, I want him to be a competitor that battles through an outfield error. Yes the error from Byrd hurt us.... but he just looks like crap since then. I feel very lucky they have not scored a bunch more the way they are hitting him.

I agree that there is SOME talent on this team, but where exactly is the pitching talent?

A rotation of Lester' date=' Beckett, Buchholz, Bard, Doubront really isn't that bad.[/quote']

Potentially, but so far its felt that bad.

Lester is at 108 pitches through 5 innings, this is problem #1 with our starters. I figure it's the perfect time for Bobby to read from the script Tito left in his locker and bring him back out for the sixth but Bobby will allow 2 baserunners instead of Tito's 1. Yay.

It sounds good in theory, but the reality is that none of the five have an ERA better than Lester's current 4.29.

Well thats just it. They all have the potential to be good SP, but their performance-all of them-has been poor. Why should we believe that something will change just because we want it to?

Lester is supposed to be the #1 pitcher for this team. The 1 is supposed to give you what you need. With the way this outfield plays, this team needed Lester to go out there and really shut down a team like the Royals, not allow a bunch of hard hit balls to get out to that porous outfield. He has not done it. It is not more complicated than that. Harsh I know but that is how it is for the 1. If this was a performance by Buch or Cook or Felix or Bard that would be fine, maybe. But this is short of what it needed to be from our #1 against the lowly Royals.

On top of that he is now out of the game with that high pitch count and here comes the pen. We will be "lucky" to win this game from the lowly Royals on a night when we had our 1 going.

I think a lot of fans have bought the hype that this is a very talented team. The hype may be due to the salaries of the players involved in combination with the scrutiny that each player gets in Boston. But the results of the past three years indicate that this team is seriously lacking talent if you compare it to the top teams in the league. Furthermore, the players give the appearance of caring more about themselves than the team; they do not appear as hungry as, say, the Rays do. Look at the way the Rays watch ball games: lots of guys on the dugout steps. Then look at our players chewing their cud sitting on their asses deep in the bowels of the dugout.

I 100% agree. Lester should be able to go at least 7 innings (preferably 8) with us still be in the game.

Seriously, there are times when I wonder if there isn't a damned card game goin' on back there.

Our top three have basically all morphed into Dice-K clones, think about it.

Too late.

We are going to lose this game, our seventh loss in eight games. Good thing this is the soft part of our season...oh wait...WE are the soft club.

LOL.

HAHAHA!!! David Robertson shows the new york fans of backing a high priced winner that life ain't the same without Mo.

Thanks God.

God Damn it...I love Pedey but nothing in this world pisses me off like a guy hitting against a pitcher for the very first time on a given night swinging at the very first pitch tossed up there to end the inning. Pedey has not hit against a RH pitcher all night long. Would it be so terrible to take one stinkin' lousy pitch just even to acclimate to the new pitcher's arm angle and the delivery point which oh by the way happens to be from the other side from where you have seen it all night!

We need runs.
