All the starters have sorta' been nip and tuck. Beckett has been the best of the top 3 but just barely. He is one poor outing from making it a situation where you could probably toss a blanket over all five of them and not have a dimes worth of difference between them.

Doubront and Bard have probably done a bit more than you would expect from a 4 and 5. Lester and Buch have done way less than what you would expect of a 1 and a 3. Beckett has done pretty good as the 2 I think but is really only one bad start from being pretty damn close to Lester and Buch. On the other hand if Beckett has a good start next time out he puts a lotta' distance between himself and Lester/Buch.

Lester really needs a good start here as these guys are chumps that Lester has dominated in previous starts.

Don't know why' date=' but I've got a bad feeling about Lester tonight.[/quote']

I see him cruising through 7 innings, getting into trouble in the 8th, Bobby wonders " I think Jon is getting tired " Lester throws a strike.... Bobby " ha, I knew he was fine".....Lester then walks the next 2 batters, gives up a double and the whole time Bobby is saying " well, I thought he was gonna work through it that time"

Edit- this isn't too far-fetched ( sadly ) how many times has this happened this yr??

Also it's Candace Bergen's birthday. Make of that what you will. John Brown's' date=' too, a man who is too often overlooked in Civil War History.[/quote']

John Brown's homesite is about 3-4 miles from my house.

Why is he so off balance?

Well I am guessing here but if you remember he went to a lighter bat a few games ago because he thought it would help his bat control and he thought he would be a little quicker on the ball. So far I have not seen any difference in the direction of his foul balls. I could be wrong here because I have not gone and looked at the splits but he seems to be popping up more than usual. I think he is pulling off the ball and his shoulder is flying open. That would certainly contribute to his looking a bit off balance. The lighter bat may not have been such a good idea after all.

Ahh man, I was hoping after you typed "You could toss a blanket over all five of them" that you would have continued with "Fill up some socks with bars of soap and or batteries and beat them until the blanket was a nice shade of crimson and the twitching stopped"

2-out walks always seem to lead to bad things when we're pitching. When we're batting they seem to amount to nothing.

Wait what happened Im not in front of a TV

Byrd just mishandled a ball hit RIGHT TO HIM in CF, eye level, costing us a run.

Actually, one of those balls was a strike. The ump missed the call.
