Boy Youk really looked tight. Maybe he should be DL at this point. It is a cold night though...maybe impossible for him to get the back to where he could swing.

This team doesn't have the guns right now to offset the mediocre pitching.

Good night everyone im gonna take a piss and go to bed.

Oh come on. That's an absolutely ridiculous argument to use career OPS.

That's like me saying Pedro Martinez has a career 2.93 ERA so he would be a better SP right now than Jon Lester because Lester has a career 3.57 ERA.

Abreu is completely over the hill and is on the downturn of his career.

He had a .766 OPS vs RHP last year. He's not a .926 OPS vs RHP player anymore. He's old.

His .766 OPS against RHP still kick DMac's .506 in 2011. Byrd was at .740 and Ross came in at .740. No matter what year you look at Abreu kicks Dmac's ass. Does Abreu have anything left? He's worth a week trial run. He's pocket change.

Why is Lars Anderson allowed to be on this team while Middlebrooks and Lavarnway are wasting away in the minors?
If Middlebrooks was in the PawSox lineup tonight, he should have been playing at Fenway instead of Punto.

I don't know what is going on with Lars. He has no role on this team. I was hoping he would crash a HR there so he would have some trade value.

There's your answer to the DMac- Abreu dilemna. The DMac lovers can keep DMac to mash lefties. Lars should be optioned back to AAA. He has absolutely no role on this team, and you mark my words that he is a disaster waiting to happen in LF.

No s***... I was thinking the exact same thing. Guy has no f***ing clue right now... can't hit a breaking ball to save his life.

There is no reason whatsoever that Middlebrooks shouldn't be called up in the very near future. He's raking at AAA and we're starting Nick f***ing Punto at 3B.

I know these umps are supposed to have a standard for performance....wonder if they use the same stuff we do to measure ball/strike performance and if there is a performance level that is finally just to intolerable. There seemed a stretch there where this guy went four and five pitches in a row that he missed.

By the end of this game you could no longer even say he was missing the low strikes or the high strikes. Outside was inside....inside was over the plate....low was a strike...high was a strike..the only things that were balls were.....the strikes.

He's gotta be in the 4 hole or 2.

Middlebrooks please!!!

Pedroia can hit anywhere in the lineup. He just hasn't heated up yet. He nver hits early in the season which will present a huge challenge to the team, because we will need AGon and Ortiz to rake every night to win.

I don't see what Lars is doing here either...has anybody seen Abreu lately. I have not. Are his legs shot finally...I always thought that would be the thing that went first for him.

Anyway there is nothing that Lars can do here. I only saw that at bat from way far away trying to get the dogs to the front door and see the TV at the same time and could not even see that it was Lars. Saw enough to agree that was a terrible at bat.

Maybe the Sox just do not want end up bringing up Middlebrooks unless they think he will be here to stay.....I really don't have a good reason myself for why they did not bring him up under the circumstances.
